True but someone obviously wants to get the info out there, possibly to keep the fans on side because it’s a bombshell of a deal with less than 48hrs of the window left…..Keegan and Gaughan reporting on it so it’s obviously come from within the club for them to put it out there today.

Pep is the master. A point I made in an earlier post is that it’s no coincidence when you see how well his pupils, Arteta, Xavi and Kompany are doing. Enjoy him while you can as he will prove likely impossible to replace.

With regard to the move, why would we accept a loan deal with only an option to buy. I fear we could end up having to deal with Cancelo all over again in a years time. I would think he would be a highly sought after player for whom we could get a decent fee right now.

Not enough time maybe for a permanent sale, he'll still be sought after in the summer and he'll hopefully have a good season there to boost his value.

I would never advocate keeping an unhappy player; but that would come with the proviso that the club are proactive and look for a replacement immediately. Losing a player of Joao's experience at this stage of the season is poor, we now effectively have an out-of-position starter at left back in Ake, and a deputy who isn't up to it in Gomez. These type of outgoings shouldn't be happening at this stage if we want to retain the league and finally win the CL.

Fucked off to be honest.

Edit: And they can fuck off with a loan and option to buy deal. If they want him, cough up now. We let clubs walk all over us sometimes.

He's been one of our stand-out players for the last 2-3 years. Arguably one of the best full-backs in the world, and so creative and valuable when he tucks into the midfield.

Yes, he's had a couple bad months of form, but so has Foden, guessing you'd want to sell him too then?

People have short-term memory. 3 bad months does not make him any less world-class. The only explanation for this is if he and Pep had a falling out
