7 | Omar Marmoush - 2025/26

For me he shows flashes of being a top player, but he’s very inconsistent. I dont think he’s playing in his right position on the wings, but he doesn’t ever start ahead of Haaland upfront.

It’s difficult not to compare to Alvarez, but I don’t think he’s as good as him.

Can't trap a bag of cement half the time.

We'll need his output through the season but he has to focus more and make better decisions in the build up play.

He’s not a winger. His game fits as a striker, second striker, or attacking midfielder. It really isn’t that hard to understand.

Why does Pep keep forcing so many midfielders out wide? Foden, Bernardo, Grealish, Marmoush… enough already.

Well we play a career central midfielder at right back.

Obviously we're not too concerned with playing everyone in their natural positions.

Very underwhelming. Has had some good individual performances and moments but considering his fee and wages he should be one of our best players every week. He can't control the ball and he seems to snatch at a lot of opportunities.

Had one good half a season at Frankfurt and we've made him one of our highest earners and he looks like he's regressing to the mean he was at before.

That’s probably true but doesn’t excuse the stupid things he does in central areas after doing something very good. Or the fact that as a professional footballer at the age of 26 his first touch is so bad at times

My only issue with Marmoush is him knowing when he's best releasing the ball. In the cases where's he's looked effective, he's passed early, but when he's got his take-on-a-man-or-two head on, he loses the ball and City lose the tactical advantage of the situation.

It's not like the opportunity isn't there to release, he just thinks he can barge through the surrounding players.

He's an excellent player if he's got the space and freedom to roam around the pitch. But too many times he's running it into trouble and losing the ball. There were a couple of opportunities in the first half for him to release the ball but he didn't. Having said that, he played Haaland through and he should have scored, he also got the assist so there were positives.

I don't think he should be stuck out of the left.

Frustrating when he doesn't release the ball quicker, but I thought he played okay overall. Don't think he should've been taken off.

His best games have come when Haaland isn't in the team.
Pretty sure Haaland was playing when he scored the hat-trick against Newcastle last season. I also thought he linked up quite well with Haaland yesterday. Last week Haaland assisted him and he perhaps should've done better with that chance but overall I think there's an understanding between them and that's something that can surely be worked on
