I disagree completely, you have to have be selfish to make it at the top level.

His overall play is regressing since he started playing on the left..
He hasn't been such bad - since the Pellegrini period.

And if someone thinks that scoring some "easy" goals (like yesterday) would mean that he is the top player - that's BS..

No goal is easy, he has been turned into a goalscorer. He is not here to stay pinned to the sideline and whip in crosses. He is told to get in the box and score. KDB/Silva/Bernardo/Mahrez/Foden/Mendy/Walker/Cancelo and everyone else can do the rest.

OK, that's sound enough argument. I'm not sure you're completely right though as there are some parts of his game that look bit arrogant at times, like trying to dribble through 6 players 5 times a game and failing each time. I think he's been launched to stratosphere bit too much when he was at the top of his game, both on and off the pitch. I bought into it too, tbh.

Anyway, he's in very, very poor run of the form and if there's a bit of self-overrating, he should reconsider it. It's been quite a lot of time since he did anything to warrant such thoughts by himself or any of us. He's better than this and he'll come better soon, but currently, he is good player at most.

That's part and parcel of the player he needed to become.

Compare him in his first season or two to now. His legs used to turn to jelly when faced up with a defender or when presented with a decent chance.

The problem with the way he's viewed right now is that when he's in good form it's perceived as confidence but when his performances dip then it's claimed he's arrogant.

As frustrating as it might be, you can't really have one without the other. I'd much rather have the player he is now than the guy a few years ago who kept it safe 95% of the time.
