I am starting to believe it.Because he isn't world class
Sane was always the more complete player and the one with the greater potential. There was something about his personality that Pep didn’t like and it cost him and more importantly us.
Don't agree. He has been.mostly brilliant for us and it is normally his close control and pace. Just 3 games in a week too much I think.Unless he has been permanently tired since becoming a pro footballer, it’s not tiredness. He is what he is, a guy with extremely average technique but blessed with some world class attributes.
It’s pretty clear that it’s Peps way or the highway. We saw this long before he became City manager. Pep loves players that submit to his rule and tow the line 100% and I think he gives these players far more slack than those that don’t. Sane only had to step out of line slightly and he was either subbed, or benched for a number of games. If Sane had performed like Mahrez has been, we wouldn’t have seen him for 2 months, whereas Mahrez is playing every week. But how do you argue with a guy who has the CV that Pep has?I think there wasn't only Sane to blame and Pep is responsible for that as well..
I know that discipline is important but creative people and footballers - sometimes need more solidarity from their managers and Pep`s strict rules maybe were the reason - we lost such a great football player...
I don't know what happened in February of 2019 - but since that cursed month - Sane wasn't playing regularly and our team has been regressing and regressing..
Yes we won title, but that quality we had was lost even in March and April of 2019. Imagine Kompany hadn't scored that goal and we saw some greatest individual performances during that period. But team in overall, without Sane as a regular - wasn't that great any more..
People are talking about Rodri and even Sterling - but the main reason we aren't performing well is, that we still can't replace Leroy Sane and his contribution to the team in overall.
Because he isn't world class
He’s definitely not world class.Sterling supposed to be world class. How can he miss chances like that??
Agree with this especially the last paragraph as it is how I feel when he receives the ball. He’s definitely not world class.
He has good goal stats but away from a piece of paper, when you actually watch him, he’s not that good a player. He’s fucking woeful in 1v1 situations, can’t control the ball when it’s passed to him on the run from behind, and has the ball bobbling and bouncing when he runs with it. Also the defensive side to his game has disappeared, he backs out of every challenge even if it’s in his favour and he gives up on any defensive chase backs.
Most of all, he doesn’t excite me. Never do I get on the edge of my seat when he receives the ball, in fact, I’m more wincing and gritting my teeth in the hope he doesn’t fuck up and am surprised and chuffed when he doesn’t.
Sterling was always technically suspect controlling the ball in tight spaces. He has good pace, but using that pace, changing directions and controlling the ball at the same time he can't do.He’s definitely not world class.
