18 months plus of poor performances, he clearly wants out.

Goodbye, and thank you, the sooner he is gone the better and if there is any truth that Frankie is coming in as part of a swop, it will been a great deal for us.
His goal drought started at the end of February this year and his status as an automatic 1st choice came to an end.

18 months ago we were in lockdown and project restart started in June 2020 for the end of the 19/20 season.
Without a break we went straight into the 20/21 season.

Sterling played continually from June 2020 to February 2021 and his record all comps for City was 24 goals+9 assists from 3592 minutes. That is a very good return and during that period he was both slagged off and praised at different times almost on a game by game basis.

In the Premier League between the same dates (Project Restart to end of Feb this year) he was the TOP Premier League scorer with 18 goals. Nearest to him were Kane 17, Son 15, Salah 14 all of whom played more minutes than Raz.

I am a big fan of his, but his time with us is over, that's the way it is with some players.

He has given great service and given his all in the cause, good luck to him in the future, but the sooner he moves the better for all concerned.

That's all well and good and I agree with your point but Pablo was countering the rhetoric that seems to have become gospel on here that he's been shit for 18 months, which is clearly false.

Think the problem with sterling could be his advert career is keeping him too busy to concentrate on his football, fuck me how much stuff can he try to flog us? Razors, headspace, them football bra thingys and more.

Once certain narratives takes over for certain players, all objective analysis seems to go out the window. You say something enough times it becomes true to you even if there's little to no basis for it. It's like some have purposefully chosen to forget that he was a consistent feature during the 21-game winning streak last season and like you said until the end of february was contributing as much as anyone in the league and the worst you could say about him prior to that was he'd been inconsistent..

His performances would range from good, ok to poor sometimes occurring in stretches. This idea that he has been 'awful/poor' for 18 months is a myth with no basis that keeps getting spouted. His time at the club may be coming to an end but there doesn't need to be this rewriting of history that seems to be happening in regards to him especially these past few months.

Players don’t run their own social media accounts anymore anyway do they?

They employ people to do it for them.

Correct.

They get people to cook their food, clean their cars, and wipe their arses after a sh*t. They live in a world where money can by them anything apart from consistent playing form.

Apart from Harry Maguire who's grandma is getting quite annoyed at having to help him spell the word "sorry" every weekend
