Absolute garbage, nothing against the guy in the slightest but we just can’t be continuing to play both him and Kev in the same midfield, it’s suicide. Then you look at which one gives the better return and Kev pisses that one. We need to look after Kev and get the most out of him, having Gundo alongside is mental.

Thanks for the service, and never forget the 2 goals against Villa, but this is a season too far in our team.

edit…says it all really.

Grealish stats are poor there too aren’t they. Thought they would be better than that after the last few weeks.

nah gundo can still be useful against lower teams who park the bus. thats when bernardo becomes ineffective

Off it at the moment. But probably a bit premature to be writing him off entirely.
Shades of the 19/20 season right now, with Pep committed to playing him, Rodri and De Bruyne together in a slightly unusual, not especially well-balanced setup. And a fair number of people wanted Gundogan sold then (and thought De Bruyne was on the wane, and Rodri too slow and immobile etc.)
Sort the system and we‘ll hopefully see him and De Bruyne both come back into their own.
Or maybe his legs have just gone?

Problem is the 3-3-4, where KDB is pushed upfront ahead of the lost ball and the inverted FB drops into his natural FB position.

If the wingers don’t supplement midfield very quickly, we are VERY light in midfield and get overrun…esp if Gundo is one of the two midfielders in that scenario.

Gundo is excellent around the opposition third, and at ghosting into the box. He is NOT a snappy defensive midfielder who can break down opposition breaks, or even hold them up while we get reinforcements.

It might be time.

Hence why a trio that includes Rodri and Bernie is a better option than one that includes KDB..
