I've said a few times, why does this lad not get the same support as other academy players?! Rico is worshipped, Phil is adored. Palmer is just a bit "meh". He's clearly quite a shy lad, but as one of our own I'd have expected a bit more support for him.

He was absolutely top draw yesterday. He's guilty of a few too many touches at times, but the way he played yesterday deserves a lot of praise. Azpilicueta is one of the top shithouses in the league. He had Sterling in his pocket in the CL final. He always has Phil's number too. He gets tight, he leaves a foot in, he nudges you he wrestles you and he makes sure you don't have any time on the ball. When Phil switched to wide left he shat himself whenever Azpilicueta got near him. Contrast that to Palmer who just saw him coming and left him for dead repeatedly. Got an assist and was the main threat in the game.

Work on his end product, and knowing when to take an extra touch or release the ball and he'll be one hell of a player. He's best staying with us in my opinion.
I can only speak for myself as to why I don’t worship/adore him like Rico or Phil and aside from me not considering him as good a footballer as those two, I just don’t see him really doing much to forge a connection with the fans? Whether it’s just his personality or something, I don’t know, but Rico and Phil have an energy about them, a positivity etc, a bond with the supporters too. Cole just seems a bit aloof to me and I personally find it harder to “worship” a player when they’re like that. But that’s just me.

Yeah I get that. He's clearly quite shy and quiet. Doesn't really have the same persona which doesn't help. Not a big issue, just something that I've always found odd.

I think he's a good player, just needs to step up from having good moments to being consistent. He's got a tendency to be a bit Mahrez and hold on to the ball for too long, but then do something of real quality. Pep clearly rates him highly.

Restored a bit of my faith this performance, looked to have a bit of swagger back.

You could still see why he hasn't featured so much though, head down not seeing players free, holding onto the ball just a bit too long, a second slower than everyone else in realising where to be.

Hopefully he gets more time and those things start to come. It was a joy to watch him tying Azpilicueta in knots.

I think next season is huge for him, it's a big decision whether to try for regular football on loan or stay getting reduced minutes but at the highest level of coaching and teammates.

I’d keep him in the squad again next season.

I can see McAtee being involved as well. I think Doyle will be the one who is sold which will be unfortunate along with THB.

Callum Doyle etc will all probably be loaned out again.

I think a lot will depend if Gundo/Bernie stay and anyone else who may move on.

Potentially nearly 70 games next year. It you get 25+ at 21 and under in this team you are on the right track.

Best performance I've seen from him yesterday and it made such a difference to him being on the wing rather than in the middle. Thought he tired as the game went on, which is understandable with the limited amount of matches played, and he definitely made mistakes, but those are the things that can be worked on. When he's been thrown into midfield, I'd not seen anything that suggested he could make it at this level.

Hopefully gets some more time on the wing in the next two and then during preseason, as even if he only gets the last 20 minutes of games next season, it gives Jack a break

Pretty spot on from my perspective. Seems to simply hold it too long in the final third to do an extra spinny whirl or two. It annoys me so I have to imagine it sends pep into orbit but hopefully he continues to improve. The assist was great yesterday

I think if Pep only seems him as a left winger (which based off games this year seems to be the case) then he may be loaned or sold as we have Grealish and Foden. I do still hope he’s the Mahrez replacement and only playing lw to get game time and develop.

Had a good match. Still got a lot to learn and is currently far from the level required for a regular sub, but the lack of play time makes that difficult; sort of a chicken and egg dilemma. I have always been puzzled why he didn't get loaned out for some quality game time.
