He looks bored, he plays like he's bored, and he sums our team at the moment, just boring, hopefully he will get better because he is nowhere near good enough for a top half PL team let alone the Champions.
 
He is being way over played.

My only hope seeing Grealish, KdB, Doku and Savio on means Lewis can clearly get some rest now.
 
Thought he did alright today actually.

No lack of effort, which unfortunately can’t be said of all our players.

He’s being played too much out of necessity, and the senior players around him are doing him no favours at all.
 
People want to make Lewis a problem. But here is the fact...

He is a better RB than Walker. A better 6 than Gundogan. Loses the ball less than Beenado.

Saying he is not good enough, misses the point

He fucking bores me. There’s no way on earth he is good enough for us. The Cancelo situation has given him a career here that his ability doesn’t deserve. He is the luckiest player in our squad.

Have you counted the mistakes ?

Like lost balls
Incorrect passes

And that’s the midfield player

If we say that he played well, then our ambition is to avoid relegation I guess

If we are talking about team that competes for PL, he is nowhere near to that level

Not as RB
Not as CM

Open your fucking eyes

Is this the player we are gonna defeat this crisis ? With 10 men + RICO ?

Good luck with that

Gundo and Walker and Bernardo are veterans, they are not our future

But Rico shouldn’t be as well

He's running around trying to cover walkers constant mistakes and gundo's *ahem* lack of mobility. At least he looks fucking tired. Compare that to foden.
 
A squad player at best. We never would expect him to be on the level of prime Gundo, any period David Silva or Prime Bernie but man he is so limited as a player.

As an inverted fullback he has tons of possession but tell me how much has he created from having so much of the ball. And how many times has he been caught out of position as other teams break behind - same for Walker for balance - who I would have gone ahead of Rico. He needs to work on the basics again, forget the England call ups and do the simple things like defending properly first.

As a centre mid his job should be tackle, get the ball and pass it quickly to one of our creative players - yet he takes four of five touches then passes it sideways or loses possession. He doesn't score or even look like scoring, he rarely wins a 50/50 tackle so what is his role?

I know loads on here want to protect him as he has come through the academy but the drop off from our best midfielders to him is perhaps as answer why we look so bad at the moment.

And, I do realise we have bigger problems but it is ok to sometimes be harsh because during this run it's not the losses it's the way we are playing - not looking like scoring and looking like conceding all the time.
 
I mean Gundo Bernardo, Foden and Walker are all playing far worse than him. He has to be a starter. He's not playing great, but we don't have any other player playing better in the midfield. Unless you want Nunes there.

We could try Grealish, but still Rico is ib my starting 11 based on the level everyone has shown so far.

He's part of the reason why we have major problems at RB and midfield, because he's simply not good enough to play either position, he's just a decent squad player to have when your team is doing well like the last few seasons, nowhere near good enough as a starter.
 
I’m astonished that he is the best we’ve had in the academy the last few years, I’m sorry but I do not see a premier league footballer there.
