He’s playing very poorly in a struggling team and needs to be given a break.
Other players have struggled too.
Foden is one of them but that doesn’t excuse Rico for his poor positioning, weakness in protecting the ball, poor passing, lightweight tackling and slow reactions and response to dangerous attacks.

Spot onDisappointed but not shocked at some of the comments on here about Rico. He’s a young lad who should be playing 20-25 games a season atm with Rodri next to him as he inverts from rb and Dias/Stones next to him in defence. He should have DeBruyne, Foden, Grealish,Haaland creating space and havoc in front of him. Instead he’s being asked to play every game, in multiple positions with superstars around him that are out of form and shot to pieces confidence wise. And ‘fans’ on here are slating the kid And blaming him for the run we’ve been on. Sorry you know fuck all about football.

It’s likely that we will need to bring someone in that can play the game the way Pep likes to play, so someone adept at right back and/or right midfielder. Jeremie Frimpong has been mentioned, he fits the profile age wise and would provide the necessary cover so that Rico can be rested and rediscover his form. Hakimi and Dumfries could also do the role but I would expect them to be significantly more expensive.Who do you suggest plays in his place?
