87 | James McAtee - 2024/25

Only a bunch of clowns think they're smarter than Pep.

It doesn't matter what you think, it only matters what Pep thinks because he gets PAID by the club to make these decisions.

Don't like it go support someone else.
Only a bunch of clowns think Pep always gets it right about players and never makes any mistakes, you're right it doesn't matter what I think, and it doesn't matter what you think either, we're all just giving our opinions here, and I support City not Pep and I'll be supporting City when he leaves too, he's the greatest manager ever but still not bigger than the club, no one is.

Would have liked to probably see him on for Gundo or Silva a bit more at the start of this run but can see why he hasn't been thrown in for the most part. Didnt expect to see him bar cup games and dead rubbers and havent. Goes/Stays no problem with either tbh.

He’s been treated appallingly, same goes for Oreilly, Wright and Simpson Pusey. I love Pep but this team has been on its arse for two months, give the young’s lads a chance. You never know Pep, it might actually do the team some good.
Imagine what is going through these lads minds. Usually with how we perform they could understand just getting the odd cup appearance and minutes when a premier league game is done.

They must be sitting there now with the state of what's going on and wondering why the fuck they are even on the bench if the manager is totally ignoring them.

I wouldn't blame them one bit if they all wanted out the door in January.

I have wanted McAtee to make it at City since forever but I guess he is just not showing it in training otherwise I think that he would have got more time.

Certain youngsters like Eric Garcia and Rico Lewis seem to have earned Pep's trust and so get to play whereas others don't even if, to us, they look like more accomplished footballers. I think Pep values what he perceives as "football intelligence" which he seems in very few players. Gundo, the Silva's, KdB, Rodri, Stones and Fernandinho (somewhat to Pep's initial surprise) have this and so get deployed in varying roles. Other players like Grealish, Mahrez and even Foden may not have this to the same extent and so get to play more limited roles.

Not sure whether can be learnt but McAtee and the other youngsters need to be up for whatever is asked of them to make progress and earn Pep's trust.

McAtee has shown nothing to suggest he is first team ready since his return from Sheff U.

He was superb as a youngster, gut not shown anything noteworthy as a senior pro yet.

If he hasn’t been a youth graduate, he’d be getting Nunes-esque pelters.
