Pep can be a proper hypocrite when it comes to the young players."he is very good in the pockets." said Pep after one of summer friendlies as a reason why he wants to keep him. then he never played him again. :))

I think our record with young players has been atrocious, considering we have the best young players in the country. It doesn’t seem to matter how good they are either or if the entire first team is out of form.Pep’s refusal to give him any minutes is an insult given how horrific others have been this season.
He deserved better. From what I’m told James will be communicating that he wants to leave permanently in January and I don’t blame him. He’s been treated poorly.
Another one bites the dust.
One must question how we deal with our academy prospects.
Or maybe mcatee isnt really all that good? He hardly pulled up any trees playing for sheff U last season so I cant see him being the answer to our problems. It is weird though, pep should either play him or sell him(with a replacement) because the squad is small enough as is without having players in it he is never going to play.Usually, as much as I disagree, I'd understand being hesitant to play young lads at a time like this. They have limited time to make an impact and a couple of shit performances in a shit team can fuck with their confidence and lead to them being labelled as "not good enough."
But what makes that argument a complete non-starter is the fact that we're playing Rico in every game, through shit form, to the point where more and more fans are turning on him.
It's like we haven't learned the lesson from Palmer and Bobb. Academy players can make a difference if you let them.

To be fair that Sheffield United side was horrendous. I’m not sure what he was meant to do. He still learnt from it though.Or maybe mcatee isnt really all that good? I like him a lot but I’m trying to see everything realistic. And when it comes about young players it isI get the feeling you don't like Pep or anyone at the club.

Foden is the benchmark and although circumstances have really forced the issue he is giving Rico a fairer chance in trying to crack it. His form is reflecting the overall team's.Pep can be a proper hypocrite when it comes to the young players.

Right now I'd take "not that good" over "fucking dog shit."
He's not cut out to be a City midfielder
I think he said that before McAtee kicked his cat and pissed on his Swiss cheese plant."he is very good in the pockets." said Pep after one of summer friendlies as a reason why he wants to keep him. then he never played him again. :))
Right now our baseline is Matty fucking Nunes winning player of the month.
Could do with a Janes Maddison arm as he ripped us apart the other week .I know it's tempting to take players not in the team and put them on a pedestal, but having seen him a fair amount, I'm very sure that McAtee isn't the answer to our current issues.
He genuinely talented, but doesn't offer anything that we don't already have in the team.
Personally I reckon he'll do well if he gets to a James Maddison sort of level.
People aren’t lauding him as the new Messi. They are simply wondering why he can’t get any minutes to rest underperforming/jaded/unfit players.I know it's tempting to take players not in the team and put them on a pedestal, but having seen him a fair amount, I'm very sure that McAtee isn't the answer to our current issues.

Personally, I don't think McAtee was a big reason why City conceded 3 late goals to Feyenoord.Mcatee was one of the reasons we drew against Feyenoord. It is not easy for the boy to play every 10 minutes in a month, like Palmer did in the past. At the time, people on here accused Cole for not good enough. The performance was not good, and that might be the end of his career under Pep unfortunately. But I’d at least give him some more minutes or a few starts in this moment to see if he can do something. We are already bad enough, and I don’t think we would do that worse with him starting. We need something fresh in the midfield area. Same to O’Reilly or Wright.
