Has his doubters and is probably a bit behind schedule but the kid can sniff out goals and chances. 22 used to be a kid, now we're used to the end product at this age. Perhaps he just needs a bit more belief, a few more minutes and all of a sudden he could accelerate big time?

But can he be like Gundogan for us in terms of playstyle?

Foden is slowly being more midfield-like lately rather than a second striker, which I like that he is doing that.

But maybe we are better off having McAtee lean more into his goal scoring and be more like Marmoush, play off the striker?

I'm not sure what the best path for him is.

Gundo wasn't even much of a goal scorer until he was about 30.

He'd never scored more than 6 in all competitions in his career in a season until 20/21 season, he was 30 or 31 then.

That's why i say there's always room for players to become better in front of goal or become more intelligent at finding goalscoring opportunities if they work at it.

Gundo clearly wasn't a natural goalscorer, as it took his until 30 until he was a real threat, but he built up a lot of football intelligence until that point.

To be fair he is starting to be trusted more and he’s coming off the bench often first. It’s starts that he needs though.

I agree, he won't get them under Pep unfortunately/sadly for him so will be no doubt the next to leave in Summer and I don't blame him one bit.

Good point about McAtee starting instead of Foden. Let's face it...Phil has had a long run in the team and James deserves to start a few games.
