Or, OYTH, 99% of the above knew fuk all about the cover up and were not privvy to info, plus, firemen, demolition experts etc etc have come out and said that what happened on 9/11 was virtualy impossible to do without some inside help, they just see it as professional people.

Or, we could hold an enquiry into 9/11 and actually choose the people that are questioning us and hey, you CANNOT quiz us seperately, we wanna be t'gevva. Cheney owns Bush btw.

23 years ago today!

Still fascinated watching various documentaries about this horrifying attack. Any recently released ones that anyone knows about?

Can I draw attention to my book - issued last week and available on Amazon. A different take on 9/11:-

On the suggestion of Mad Eyed Screamer, I have a new book out this week on Amazon called Parallax 9/11 Part One: The Silent Assassin.
It tells the untold story of the first victim of Mohamad Atta - the 9/11 ringleader who flew the 1st plane into the North Tower of the World Trade Centre.
When Atta's mugshot was 1st broadcast to the world, it set off a chain of events among a group of Mancunians who'd been on a golfing vacation in Florida 17 months previously, and they were all convinced that Atta had been involved and at the scene of a fatal road traffic accident in which one of their number had been killed. No action was taken to prosecute; the perpetrators later disappeared.
I was a lawyer back then and it fell to me to pursue a claim for the bereaved family.
In a recent podcast, I was asked to reflect on some of the cases I'd dealt with; this one was always top of my list, but I had no authority to talk about it. However, I'm still in touch with the family and when I last spoke to them, they said that they wanted the story to be told - so here it is. I 've set it against the backdrop of the 9/11 disaster, otherwise there's no perspective, and I seek to both inform and ask questions of the authorities.
I tell the family's story; give insight into how the claim was pursued; delve into where Atta was pre 9/11. The authorities only reckoned he was in the USA from June 2000. This fatal event happened in mid May 2000, and I believe we can safely say that he was indeed in the USA at that time.
I ask many questions in the book, and hopefully weave an intriguing story about some great Mancunian people. There's a very human love story in there, and much tragedy. Some names and venues have been changed to protect identities, but it is all based on true events.
Hope you'll look it up and give it a like.
Cheers.
RTH

I've recommended it on here before I think and some of you will have read it no doubt, but Lawrence Wright's The Looming Tower is an incredible book that rightly won him a Pulitzer.

It tells the detailed account of the events leading up to the attacks, starting with Osama Bin Laden's upbringing and covering the internal bureaucracy and rivalries between the CIA and FBI that led to intelligence and operational failures that could have prevented the attacks.

It's by some distance the best book I've ever read.

They made it into a miniseries with Jeff Daniels, which is also excellent.

not read the book but have the series on DVD which I can agree it is excellent

I can remember very clearly what I was doing when this broke. From that moment on I was glued to the telly until late at night.

It still doesn’t seem real now. For the sake of the families and survivors, I’m glad social media wasn’t a thing, given some of the vile tripe these conspiracy theorists put on about it now. Most probably weren’t even born.

remember the day as if it was yesterday, never saw the footage as i was working at Vita so was listening on radio as events unfolded, finished work at 4:30pm then drove to Nottingham as City were at Notts County strangest atmosphere ever experienced at a game and should never have gone ahead it was only once I got home put Sky news on and thats when I saw the events for the first time, 100% agree with you regarding social media not being a thing back then

I had an American girlfriend at the time (LONG distance relationship I know). She worked at the New York Times and was in the office on West 43rd street when it happened and I was at work in Hyde, we had a security office with a TV and they rang me as the news was breaking. I tried to call so see if she was OK but couldn't get through. I knew before the second plane hit that the first one was deliberate as planes are rarely allowed over Manhattan. I finally managed to contact her late that night and she said they could smell the burning in their office, she lived in NJ and all the routes in and out of Manhattan were closed so it was late night before she could get home on the ferry to Weehawken. I'd been in the towers and in the WIndows on the World restaurant a couple of times and went over on the first flight allowed (think it was the 16th?) and the devastation around the site was shocking to see. I find it really really hard to believe the towers were brought down the fires casused by the two planes. The whole event had dodgy stories around it and I remember the BBC reporter on the scene announcing the collapse of building seven when it was clearly visible behind her and still standinng? I doubt we'll ever know the whole truth (bit like the Kennedy assassination) but America has a history of false flag events (Vietnam for one) have triggered massive reactions and suit the military industrial complex's ambitions. Dwight Eisnehower warned againt this very thing.

9/11 suited the Bush adminstration's purposes, at the very least I think it may have been allowed to happen?

Nice post they until you went all Alex jones on us.

It’s really very simple what happened that day.

So we are told. I don't profess to know differently but to my mind many legitimate questions remain unanswered. Each to their own though. A terrible event whatever you believe and it really did change the world. I'm not a fan of Alex Jones (or anyone else who makes money out of 'conspiract theorys) btw.

I always found it amazing how they found the undamaged passport of one of the hijackers in the rubble. What are the chances‽ especially as they never recovered the black box from the planes.

They should make black boxes out of the same material as that passport.

I had flown to Canada for a weeks work on the Sunday. Wondered where everyone disappeared to while I was still working away setting up the equipment. Then went for a morning break in the canteen and saw everyone glued to the telly. Of course they closed all the North American airspace which they opened on the Friday so was OK getting home. All the customers were asking if I was nervous etc but it was probably he safest time to travel. Still cant help watching youtube for clips, there is actually one I have seen recently that I never saw before taken from a boat on the Hudson showing the second plane flying in.

My generations Kennedy moment.

I think anybody who saw the TV coverage watching it unfold was in some kind of shock.

First the towers, then the pentagon. An international WTF moment in history.

It was most definitely a state of shock. The towers were horrific, watching them reduce like that. But when they said about a plane hitting the pentagon, that was just out of this world.

Was the one the passengers took down (let’s roll) heading to the White House? Heroes on that plane.

Flight 97 if I remember correctly?
