Watching in the ground last night he made so many runs which needed a through ball / pass and we passed backwards
The problem is we have never play with a striker who just stays in/near the box under Pep. The players dont really know what to do or expect. So either haaland has to adapt to us or we have to adapt to him or meet midway. I am sure this will improve as the season goes on

In other news, the annual Norwegian Sports Gala was just held tonight, and Erling was awarded both "Name of the Year" (voted by the public) and "The Athletes' Choice" (voted by other athletes), the two most coveted awards (alongside the "Award of Honour"), in fierce competition with Norway's most renowned athletes from other sports.

(My translations are probably horrible names for awards, but they are at least pretty direct translations, so the meaning should be clear.)

Not sure if anyone here cares, but that's a fun fact, I guess.
He accepted the Athlete's Choice award by video, while Brede Hangeland (ex Fulham, Crystal Palace) accepted the Name of the Year award on his behalf.

He's a goal machine but there's not much of a footballer there if we're being brutally honest. He's young enough of course to improve aspects of his game a lot. He's a lot like a young Michael Owen in some ways but has far more strength along with aerial power due to his size. Owen's overall game also often left something to be desired but if you created chances for him he ultimately scored.

His link-up play is good.
He's an extremely capable defender of opposition set pieces.
He works damned hard and presses as well as any forward we've had apart from Jesus.

Sure, he isn't David Silva in possession, but to say he isn't much of a footballer is over-egging the pudding somewhat.

Only five players have created more big chances in the PL than him. If you look at the players above him in the list., then he's in pretty good company.

Am I though . This guy can go anywhere. Tbh all we need is two rapid wingers to create chances for him and get away from this slow play.
Yes you are. We are 2nd in the league and through to the last 16 in Europe. He's scored 27 goals despite this service supposedly not being there.
