The sad thing is that there are people who fall for it every day and give them the attention (money) they want.

I think its pretty obvious really. It's his literal job to generate views and some are very good at it, because they know how to game it all. I'm amazed people get so worked up over it. That style of content isn't necessarily for me, but ya know, it isn't a crime to have a bad football take, though the internet would convince you it is! I just laugh it off and ignore it.

Its his literal job to generate clicks by saying things to people even he does not believe in? That does not make any sense... Isn't he at least supposed to be truthful, as best as he can, to the people who are listening to him?
 
It's more the fact this Rory bloke has a long history of shitting on City as a club in particular, the most obvious I've seen from anyone in the media at the moment, must feel threatened by the clubs success in comparison to Chelsea. Anyway the guy is a complete bellend and we've got Erling Haaland so that's all that matters :)

It makes perfect sense. He's making money by getting people to react to what he says. People won't react if he doesn't say anything reactive

It's his job, in his eyes (I'd guess), to get views. Nothing more, nothing less. How he wants to do that is none of my business. He doesn't have to be truthful (though how do you even define that in football terms?). There's nothing in the terms and conditions of youtube that goes against hot takes and it's basically on the viewer to how they react to it. Saying a footballer might not do well isn't exactly harmful is it? Just the same nonsense you often hear at the pub too that we all ignore. Certainly nothing to get worked up over...especially when its pretty blatant that the bottom line is what counts for some media types. Why do we think TalkSport exists full stop? They literally sit and have meetings on those shows and ask one person to argue one particular argument. The presenters/guests often dont give a fuck. They're getting paid either way. Personally, I can't do that as it isnt my style. Genuinely, Ive been asked to before but refused...but some just are not arsed and will. That's life. Professional gobshites have existed forever.

Edit - for what its worth, if any of you met him, you'd likely have a really nice chat with him away from a football. He's a normal, friendly bloke. Just all football nonsense isnt it? it turns us all into big kids :)

Look, I can't say for certain that he is, cos I literally don't know, or care, but even if he is, are you new to this world? ha ;)

People have been doing this since men started communicating. It's a trick as old as time. And as for the last question, well, once again...ha. Exact same response. When did self respect ever stop people earning money? Have you seen our politicians? I can guarantee none of these people give the tiny damn about any grief they get. They count the money and ignore it all.

Some of us don't do that its worth pointing out. Reckon I could genuinely make 3 or 4 times what I do a year if I decided to fully go for the clickbait stuff, but I just cant bring myself to do it ha.

It's not a world I have any intention of getting involved in tbh, mate. I only see stuff like this when I'm on this forum and I'm well aware that people's morals and dignity are fucked off sharpish when the opportunity to cash in is there. Good luck to them but it won't alter my own opinion of them being cunts with no self respect. :-)
 
Bluemooners letting themselves get baited out on social media is as responsible for negative City content as anyone/ anything else.

Most of us are guilty of responding to a troll once in a while but the collective users of this site are prolific at giving them waaaaaay too much oxygen.

We've got Haaland. Watch him prove the smattering of doubters wrong every week and be content with grinning from ear to ear.
