Playing more direct to Haaland made sense tonight given they went man to man. If they do that you pick your best player and give it him as much as possible, no defender can handle him solo, he got Holding subbed at half time, he was doing his job. Arguably should have done better with the two chances where he's almost through but that's being harsh and in fairness it was good alert sweeping from their keeper.

His hold up play and aerial play was good tonight the problem was to play that way you have to have runners off him and they need pace, we don't have anybody willing to run in behind except maybe gundo from really deep which isn't happening if we go direct and we don't have any pace, Grealish or Mahrez aren't getting in behind from a ball up to Haaland. Alvarez and foden are probably our best bets if we plan on doing that again. It's an option, just needs tweaking.

Our players are way too far away from him. When he challenges there is no one anywhere near him.

Yep. Both wingers stuck to the line and were never getting close enough to him to get onto anything and the midfielders were occupying spaces further back dragging their markers away from the space infront of Haaland thus taking them out of play too.

The wingers needed to come in and play off him whether that be runs in behind him or just beside him for the cushion or to pick up seconds. It was like we only told ortega and Haaland we would be playing more direct and didn't bother telling the wingers. Frustrating because Haaland battled well and won his fair share of balls.

The players should try to pass/cross for other players & not only Haaland.

Use him to attract opposition players to create space for the rest.

He seems incredibly isolated in this set up.

Looked more comfortable when Alvarez was introduced to share the burden and fill the space previously unoccupied.

looked fed up in the second half last night when the ball was just getting lumped up to him, we need to get him in behind with his runs like earlier in the season.

Last thing he is is a target man. He's just not a natural at holding the ball up or winning headers. Good to see him keep at it last night.

Was having a debate with some last night who said Aguero and Jesus are miles better than him. City fan too. Can’t agree me. He is off the chart with his numbers.

His numbers will be (much) better than Aguero's, but will we as a team score more goals than we did with Aguero? It doesn't depend only on Haaland, of course, but the all important question is not about his individual numbers but about City's numbers.

As things stand, Arsenal won't have a player with 15 PL goals at the end of the season. What's more, Haaland alone may outscore their top 3 PL goalscorers this season. But it won't mean much if Arsenal win the title. Football is a team (first) game.

I think Haaland is a phenomenal striker and he can help us more in Europe than Aguero and Jesus, hopefully already this season. Aguero was fantastic in the PL, but not in the CL.

If Pep was here at about the same time we signed Kun, I bet he would have turned Kun into an absolute beast - PL, CL and everything.
