He looked a bit down in the dumps last night plus two giant CB’s dragging him all over the place,he never got anything off the ref.
You might not be so circumspect about him just being inches away if they had gone on to score.Thought he was quality and inches away from grabbing another brace.
Those whinging about other aspects of his game don’t seem to realise how much he terrifies the defence and creates problems.
The stat fans of today are a waste of time.
We didn’t play on Thursday, it was Wednesday so 72 hours (well, 68 hours from the final whistle in Athens) between games.Looks fucked, but on another night, not 48hrs after playing in near tropical conditions,he gets a brace or more.
The 8 day rest will be very welcome for most of the squad, and i strongly suspect we will have 2 or 3 additions by then.
On the basis of the end of last season, and yesterday defenders are definitely getting wiser at marshalling him out of the game. The stats show that.He didn’t do anything any differently last night from the Burnley or Sevilla games. Very similar performances: not holding the ball up well, not controlling the long balls from Ederson well, not looking sharp… only difference in the Burnley game is that he stuck the ball in the net twice but could have done last night n’all.
Doesn’t look proper match fit yet to start this season.
We have a run of games now against teams likely to end up mid and lower level in the league by next May. He should be able to bag a few.Poor in 3 out of 4 games so far this season I’m sure he’ll be bagging a hattrick again every other game soon though
They didn’t. What ifs are a waste of time. You might not be so circumspect about him just being inches away if they had gone on to score.
They are. But that was nothing to do with Haaland. It’s a good job we controlled the game so well. But realistically Haaland should have put one of his chances away. They didn’t. What ifs are a waste of time.
