I agree, teams have adapted. However, if you count, in almost every game there are numerous opportunities to play killer through balls (as Haaland is always moving around). Why we don't use these opportunities with the passers we have is astounding. It almost looks like they are intentionally trying to exclude him from the game. It's bizarre

Yeah, guys like Pele, Baggio, Van Basten, Ronaldo Nazario, Romario... have nothing on this guy Haaland.

Heck just this decade we had Benzema, Aguero, Lewandowski, Mbappe, Ibra and Suarez. All of them superior forwards to what Haaland has shown so far, and capable of creating their own goals. Especially in the case of Benzema, Mbappe, Aguero and Suarez, they could have 10/10 games even without scoring, thanks to their creativity, dribbling, passing, link up play....

Can't think of another striker that occupies 2/3 defenders every game in and around the box. There is a reason for that it's because teams are shit scared of him. He's not an all round forward he's an out and out poacher/goalscorer. He's doing a fantastic job for us occupying defenders while making space for others to play in. If he's good enough for pep he's good enough for me sure he can improve aspects of his game and I'm 100% sure he will at us. Also think that injury was worse than made out and he's struggling to get back to full fitness.

There are a number of reasons for Haaland not scoring, probably the biggest is Pep playing him deeper, another is second season, another is his main provider not playing or scoring himself, but probably the biggest is, he is a big lad and the refs have adjusted their view of the rules, when he fouls they blow but they do not when he is fouled, the lad is going to have to learn to dive, can you imagine Haaland throwing him self to the flow, every time someone touches him on the shoulder.

I will stick with Haaland, since those are crocked now and Mbappe is a winger with no linkup play at all, you might as well of said Rashford or Ings, Lewandoski just had his record broken by Kane, all strikers have their weaknesses, it is down to the team to patch them up, so when someone says Haaland had 28 touches that is down to the team not making sure he has 50.

I didn’t say we’d be better I said if all you want is for a striker to occupy the defenders we may as well have deeney. To praise a striker for occupying a cb is absolutely laughable tbh.

I still maintain Kane would have been the better buy but he obviously wasn’t available at that point. Put him in our team and he would similar numbers to haaland as well as huge assist numbers. Kane also is better in the build up, better in the air and has a better passing range.

If you play on the counter there is probably no better striker than haaland. How we play there are better options for us imo
