I’ll be on my own here probably but i didn’t think the miss was as easy as most think. With a ball that high it’s difficult to control it. The bollock i thought he dropped was not anticipating it early enough and bending to head it. Then he couldn’t have missed.
Yup yo are right, It wasn't easy. But then again, it was!

Happy he came thru eventually. :)

Ake has always been good header since he was a youth player despite being short.

Haaland has always been bad header since he was a youth player despite being tall.

I think it's not something you can massively improve sadly, you either have knack for it or don't.

He is going to end up having probably his worst season for overall performances in his career, yet he will still score around 40 this season.

Most strikers would have folded after that miss, but he plugged away and got his reward.

He's only scored 23 headers in his career, but 13 of those have come since he joined City.

Hard to tell so far if he's improving his heading technique, getting more chances provided, or perhaps getting better at being in the right place for headers.

It'll probably take a while to be sure, but it may actually be the area that he's improved most.

People have to accept he’s not the finished article yet even though his numbers suggest he is. He will miss chances, all strikers do but his self belief to keep going is why he’s special.
Imagine how many he will score once he irons out his issues.
We should embrace the journey.
This is a great post to be fair

He looked like he shaped to head it then pulled out last min and by then his body shape was all over the shop.

I dont think theres any way to say that he shouldnt have scored

It's really interesting how much topspin he puts on his shots. I've never seen anything that consistent.

Kun had his trademark near post shot that keepers couldn't stop.. Haaland's got his trademark topspin. Original shot nowhere near the goal, but it keeps spinning back in!

That would be sidespin right?

Turned out not to be a miss that cost us. However he's missed a few more like this this season which is frustrating. Doesn't seem to be as ruthless as last season, but he doesn't let anything get to him tbf.

Just has to start nailing that first chance he gets that's all. Atm, feels like in some games it takes him a couple of chances before he bags. It's just working on those fine margins. Just hope he starts finding that razor sharpness against Liverpool and culminating in a real strong finish to the season.

He is not world class for me yet. He plays in a team that creates loads of chances so his numbers may be impressive but it could have been much more. On the other hand apart from his numbers he has been abysmal. De bruyne, Foden, rodri, stones are the best in the world at what they do, he isn't. Kun was ten times the player.

As a footballer touch wise and skill no he’s not world class. As a striker he absolutely is because no other striker scores at anywhere near his level.

He is the only player in a pep team who doesn't contribute to the build up play of the team at all, so his numbers are a certainty to happen, when all he does is wait in the six yard box waiting for a pass or a rebound to score. The other top strikers in guardiolas teams were contributing in the general play a lot more meaning the goals came from different players as his teams didn't have a focal point (an old school number 9). Pep for some reason changed his mind in his approach to the game with haaland. The treble is our biggest achievement but i don't think haaland contributed to that as a lot of other players. In the big games in my opinion he ghosted badly. You can call him a world class number 9, all i see is an inconsistent finisher of the ball, helped immensely by a superb team creating loads of chances for him, with him doing next to nothing when he has an off day in front of goal.

You can’t say he only scores because of the team he’s in. Just look at his numbers before he came here and for Norway. His finishing hasn’t been quite so clinical this season but i think that will return. Even if he’s not that involved in the build up it isn’t really a problem as we still completely dominate the ball.

I agree that his numbers were impressive before he joined us, albeit not that impressive as last year, and on 'easier leagues'. I have seen fanis gekas and amanatidis become topscorer in the bundesliga, along with a lot of others that either came to the premier league and failed, or didn't but it was evident that they wouldn't have the same impact. A lot of strikers from other leagues have been prolific in front of goal before signing for a premier league club, none of them scored 52 on their first year. Huge part of the 52 goals he scored was the way pep chose to play.but for me he needs to do more than just that. Anyway agree to disagree. I hope i am proved wrong.

A strikers job is too score goals.
If he's not world class no player is
