He has been working on his physique and power since his arrival,and it has paid off definitely.He is far more muscular than when he arrived here,but,in particular,look at the difference in the size of his quads to see where much of his strength is initiated.
His constant efforts to improve himself and the desire to not accept second best are two of his most appealing and defining qualities - and all that hardwork is now clearly paying off as even his detractors are now struggling for ammunition ;-)
 
He has looked world class so far. By not signing a striker, the onus is on all the young forwards/attackers (Ferran, Gabby, Foden, Delap, etc..) to contribute and continue to develop and get better. Our biggest improvement was always going to come internally.
 
Not announced yet but he’ll win our first player of the month. I expect him to play first choice and Riyad to get the cup games / 30 minute token subs after the break. That’s our modus operandi.

Same for laporte over stones.

I think it’s a bit early in the season to decide Mahrez will be a bit part player. He had a really good season last year, good pre season, poor at Spurs with about 9 others and has looked superb in his 2 sub appearances since. Fair play to Jesus he’s had 2 really good games on the right but let’s wait a little longer and see him do it against a half decent team before we go hyperbole.

My bad. It was unintentional hyperbole. Jesus did get the PotM as deserved. I meant that he should retain his position after the break and then we go from there. It’s a weird reversal as Jesus was always first choice in group stage CL games and usually came off the bench for the prem. I’d like to see Jesus getting the starts in the prem and Mahrez getting 60/30 of the minutes in the CL. With gabby getting 30/60 in the leipzig

Mahrez has been fantastic in preseason and made his mark during our rotations/sub minutes. Really can’t go wrong either way going into the leicester game but Gabby needs to continue the confidence and earned these early game starts.

I thought he was absolutely superb when he came on. Great energy, won the ball back a couple of times, some lovely passing, and a poacher's goal. Clearly enjoying his football at the minute and in our strongest XI so far this season
 
Very enjoyable and productive cameo. Best of the subs by some distance. Perhaps barring Fernandinho.
