The key thing here are the dates. The policy was published in 2001 but it took *years* before that to get to grips with the nature and scale of the scandal.

I can assure you chapter and verse that every aspect of Pope John Paul's life will be subject to the canonisation process.

As a global institution the CC is subject to all the frailties of any human organisation.

another couple for good measure

I was expecting a bucketload of mud from you tonea2003, but you've mellowed.

Simple answer to this - Catholic Priests are human beings and the Catholic church is a human institution.

religious indoctrination comes in the first instance from parents, then the church then the school.
don't see much of it from mainstream tv.
although influences from tv in general terms needs a coat of looking at

I meant in general, not specifically religious indoctrination.

How do parents avoid indoctrination of their children?

Life on earth has to be a process of social contact, relationships, listening, learning, and making decisions about what makes and doesn't make sense.

I agree BP.

[walks away shaking head with more disbelief]

What does this mean?

Paul you got a lot to learn from this

Read it well. Hold on you are probably already an expert on it. Don't mind me then.

I read the first sentence and dismissed him.

Have you ever heard of the cold war?

I've had a very good career working in defence of the west against the soviet union of which bulgaria was part of.

How is life since the berlin wall collapsed?

Cool - replying to your own post.

No I don't agree. As I've pointed out before, John Paul II was a human being who did more to bring down the soviet union than anyone because he gave them a problem they couldn't solve.

I can normally admire someone if not respect them for sticking to their guns but you are the exception to the rule.
It is generally accepted by people he hindered investigations and what protecting child abusers has to do with communism I dont know.
How cool is it to hide your post within someone elses

Yes you did. Its all about the politics of Europe since the second world war.

Pope John Paul the second is believe it or not a human being. He was born, lived and died.

As the pope who covered up and therefore the prince of darkness according to Reverend Ian Paisley, JP II did more to break the soviet union than anyone.

EDIT: As Karol Wojjtyla, he was also involved in defending and helping people in Poland in WW2

Are you trying to say that because of this claim he singlehandedly brought down communism in the Soviet Union somehow cancels his approach when dealing with child abusers.
