Just another pd smokescreen.

EDIT: As Karol Wojtyla, he was also involved in defending and helping people in Poland in WW2.
Are you trying to say that because of this claim he singlehandedly brought down communism in the Soviet Union somehow cancels his approach when dealing with child abusers.

Who said anything about singlehanded and no I'm not.

no bottle to face up to scutiny

I have a friend who recently became a priest and a friend going through seminary and both feel john pauls handling of the abuse scandal caused great damage to the church and still priests are being shielded. It causes one in particular great distress but neither blindly defend that which they know is wrong.
Blind faith is dangerous.

Blah Blah Blah

Only one sensible conversion in life then - from religion to atheism.

Disappointing I thought you had more stamina man but I dont understand the reference to Gary Glitter, another idol of yours?

I thought I'd inject a little humour while pointing out that not all pedophiles are Catholics or Priests.

-- Mon May 30, 2011 11:33 am --

I wouldn't disagree with anything you've said here.

Yes you did. Its all about the politics of Europe since the second world war.

Pope John Paul the second is believe it or not a human being. He was born, lived and died.

As the pope who covered up and therefore the prince of darkness according to Reverend Ian Paisley, JP II did more to break the soviet union than anyone.

Just another pd smokescreen.

Ooohhhh the Irony behind that statement.

How's the engineering on the ship of fools coming?

My offer still stands. I could be your vehicle systems engineer.

I'm still waiting on Ducados answer as to "some evidence of evolution but mountains of evidence against it"

Child-safety body 'hampered by Church's under-reporting of abuse'
Wednesday, May 11, 2011 - 11:54 AM

The body responsible for reviewing the protection of children within the Catholic Church has said its work has been hampered by the under-reporting of abuse by Church authorities.

The National Body for the Safeguarding of Children in the Catholic Church (NBSCCC) found that in the period from April 1, 2010 to March 31 this year, 53 new allegations of abuse were reported to them.

However when the body asked for confirmation of the figures, it emerged that 272 allegations of abuse were made, representing an increase on the previous year's number of 197.

While the vast number of cases are historic, the NBSCCC said it was impossible to say how many cases were new.

The group was asked to undertake a national review of safeguarding last June. So far, it has only been able to review three dioceses, out of 26.

The religious bodies told the NBSCCC that they had concerns about data protection.

au contraire.

I've never claimed to be anything special or over-confident or any of those things.

I frequently wonder whether I have too many misunderstandings with BP.

At one point I'm agreeing with him on things like indoctrination and then all of a sudden he turns on me.

He also thought I was patronising him on one occasion when I wasn't doing anything of the sort.

Child-safety body 'hampered by Church's under-reporting of abuse'

The religious bodies told the NBSCCC that they had concerns about data protection.

I wondered why I'd never heard of that body.

It only has jurisdiction within the Catholic Church and within Ireland.

Perhaps we've got a better system in England. We wouldn't have such issues over here.
