What does "Better Dead han TRed" mean?

I don't like the meaningless and silly stars, I don't like the Latin that means something different to what we think it does, I don't like the United 1958 FA Cup final eagle, I don't like how we don't have our club name on the badge and don't like how it isn't a disc so that it can just sit on the kit nicely rather than have a daft shield around the outside of it.

is it just me or does that scream out 1940's Nazi Regiment Medal .... feel like we getting a visit from the Luftwafte

I'm definitely getting an Italian Fascist vibe

Same can be said of our badge eagle, unfortunately.

That's actually the exact eagle from the New York City Seal.

nice beaver

I like our current one. When it come out the idea in my mind was a rising phoenix. It is still as apt today as then.

The carefully crafted design, skilfully produced to look like the work of a simple idiot, actually is a cunning plan to engage the attention of viewers.

At first they read it as "Better Dead han TRed" but on further study realise it says that it is better to be a piece of putrid, rancid, pox laden bit of meat rotting underground for the rest of time than a Man Utd or Liverpool fan.

Having had to engage the brain in order to fully comprehend the message means that message is more likely to be remembered.

I hope this helps Mr KC.

It's amazing how some people who think they are clever with photoshop can make such a cock up of our badge.

I sometimes think half of them on here don't have a clue about our history with the sh1t they come out with!

You do realise half of the badges posted are examples of styles that could be applied to a City design, and not the actual design, yes?

Sometimes I think half of the posters don't have a clue about what they're reading.

Don't know about anybody else but I'm bored out of my mind! And I'm in Montréal at the moment, on holiday, which isn't a bad place to be at all!
About the badge. I'm happy with the new badge, and Noel Gallagher's comment about "nobody's ever seen eagles in Manchester" is off the wall ,really, nobody's ever seen red devils walking down Cross Street, come to that. I just think the ship should be on that badge. The creation of the Manchester Ship Canal was a major part of the history of the city, one of the things that symbolized its dominant position as the city of the industrial revolution, worldwide, at the time. And as I'm very fond of history, well…
