I don't think we're quite there to challenge for the title just yet, but if it shut tonight i'd be confident of top 3 definitelyBillyShears said:AntonDonJuan said:I'll be glad when everyone is signed, it's frustrating as hell waiting for announcements!
I've reached a very zen like state. Even if the transfer window slammed shut tonight - with the squad we have, I'd be confident that we are fully equipped to mount a serious title challenge...

The likelihood, by the sounds of it, is our summer will be David Silva, Yaya, Boateng, Balotelli, Kolarov and one more, (Milner, Dzeko or Arteta ). That should be way ahead of most peoples expectations, it is above mine.
thanks for the update TH too...

At the moment we have 38 in the first team squad. 6 of those don't count as they were under 21 on 01/01/2010. This leaves 32 so, as it stands we must get rid of 7 players. If we were to sign another 4 (incuding the wow) we would have to shift 11 players out in a month.
The transfer window is therefore bound to be frantic right up to the deadline even if it's just players going out. This is of course unless we are happy to pay players who are not allowed to play but I can't see Mancini wanting to work with an overly large squad containing disruptive influences who know they won't be playing under any circumstances.

The info was seven in - ten out...
If you consider Petrov, Boj are already gone - eight more.

The reality is that our owners will ALWAYS be on the lookout for a "marquee" signing - so it'll always be on the cards come the summer transfer window. However, in terms of Mancini's happiness with the make up of the squad - the players brought in in the coming 10 days will be the ones he wants to start the season. The "marquee" will be an extra player...and therefore not integral the manager's immediate plans...if that makes sense.
To be honest, there's actually very little mystery left to this transfer window (as disappointing as that is for some). It's crystal clear we want Balo (or Dzeko), Milner (or Arteta), and Kholarov, to complete our main business for the summer...
My personal opinion is that these players will signal an end to us doing incoming business...
