I stand by what I said and it's not racist, I think he's an egotistical twat regardless of the racism problems he's suffered.

So you still think he's done fuck all in his career?

if he comes, think he will prove you wrong.but only time will tell.

and I would love him too, but I think he's such a huge gamble that for a team that MUST get Champions League football it's a huge risk and I'd rather have the safe bet in a Dzeko than Balotelli is, I don't see why we have to take the risk on this guy, who's basically a little baby in a big situation who basically needs constant support and care and management, going beyond the racist abuse he suffers, that is common in Spain and Italy.

-- Wed Jul 21, 2010 10:25 am --

fuck all in relation to a £30m price tag, yes.

Berti, with your well considered, balanced, un-biggoted arguement, I don't supose that you have wondered if you may well be talking yourself into a corner from which there could be no return?

If the thought of him signing causes you this much concern I dread the day when this lad is stuffing one up the Rags in a sky blue shirt and being hero worshipped by the true believers. Because having seen the good and the bad from this lad I can tell you he really does have the full set and currently stands on the verge of greatness. Maybe, just maybe his coming to us will be the final step that he needs to take.

And anyway, as has been pointed out to you on numerous occasions here, he is a risk that we are in the lucky position to be able to afford without too much of a problem if you were to be proven right.

So chill and enjoy the rid to glory.

The 30million isn't in relation to what he's achieved so far is it? He's shown already that he can perform at the top level so he's going to cost a fair bit but i reckon a fair amount of the money they want is based on his potential. Just like when United signed Rooney, he wasn't worth 30mil based on what he'd achieved at the time but they could see his potential and you have to take that into account

how can you say dzeko is a safe bet? he aint played in the prem either.any player who has not played in the prem is a risk, but RM knows the lad well,he brought him up.
RM knows this kid well and that will do for me.

Damocles makes some very eloquent points, but hte honest answer is that none of us really know exsctly what he is like.
As far as his disruptive influence goes though, I hope disrupts the dressing room so badly that we win the treble including Champions league and domestic title. It really cannot have been that bad.

Dzeko won't moan and whine every single time something doesn't go his way like Balotelli does, and if Balotelli kicks off and does a Robbie on us(which he is capable of) then we've lost another £30m, and for a club that needs to be sustainable and in fair play rules then that's a massive write-off.

Like I said, if he does well and doesn't cause trouble, then I will get behind him and support him like I did Bellers, but he has to prove he is mature enough to play well consistantly and keep his mouth shut, because after Inter he has to prove it was a one club issue.

Also can we stop putting £30 million, it wont even be close to 30 million euros nevermind pounds.

If i was to guess i think we'd pay £21-23million thats with bonuses...

Some reports today are around that figure and 16-18 upfront for this kid seems worth it. We have not been ripped off once this transfer window, we're not starting now.

EDIT:: Oooooo didnt see these quotes from Benitez ...told the Mail when asked about Balotelli's imminent departure. "Do I fear being remembered in a few years as the coach who let Balotelli go? I repeat I do not control the market.

"One player doesn't make a team and Inter have many strong players."
