A Positive from the new euro away ticket system?

The first quote you have taken from a ticket whoring point and I was in favour of insuring the right people get in the ground, ie with their own points and not something else

I didnt go but this game and many other high profile aways are televised and often, the camera is directed on our away support and it takes a second to pick up Dads with kids, tourists, groups of teenagers who simply haven't got the desired amount of points required for that fixture.

Again, whilst we have supporters clubs getting access to tickets, the issue of people getting tickets that dont deserve them will never go away.

here's what I KNOW. not rumour, actually know.

it is 100% the points whores that have caused this. I was told at an earlier euro game that "something" was going to be done. no bombings no security no nothing, just whoring. as it happens there are bi products of this system that make sense i.e. they know who is in the stadium.

we were sat with people with next to zero points in Madrid, they told us directly their supporters club gave them the tickets.

its early days, I'm sure the club will tweak things to make collection easier.

people had better plan their aways cos this system isn't going anywhere. if you can't make the pick up don't book, its a bugger but its the way it is.

I'm not sure how far we take this though. I am taking my grandson today and would love to take him soon to a euro away, as it stands he has no chance, even if his grandma isn't going(like she'd trust him with me) I couldn't give him her ticket. its a shame, he is after all the future of the club.

nothing to do with security mate. as I said. the people will still have to be named and have a wristband so they will know who is in place. what I don't know as I have never been part of a sc is how the system there works. how they allocate tickets is lost on me.

It would not work for a home or away game so that is not really an arguement to put forward regarding a European match. It works for Europe. Why is it sheep like to get on a tram and collect a ticket ? Why is it a grown man cannot carry a letter and his passport in is pocket. If you are on Spikes trip you have to carry your passport with you at all times anyway. If you are overnight you can collect your ticket and leave your passport in your hotel.
Further it is not going to change. Which ever european cup we are in next year it will be the same. I would ask one question to all those that moan about it, have you emailed the club to voice your dissatisfaction and offer other suggestions ?

Why would it not work for away matches in England and Wales? Just tell the fans to get there 6 hours early and the sheep would oblige.

Do you normally get a ticket off a mate but you couldn't this time or do you have loads of points so you'd get a ticket anyway?

I must be a sycophantic sheep because I've got 11000 points and got a ticket that I wouldn't have got before so I like the new system.

If you can't see that this system, if implemented properly, is a good thing for the majority of fans who are trying to build up points so they can go to matches like this then you're a bit thick.

Well use it for games in this country then, and continue to baaa along as fans are mistreated. It would help you in this country too whilst eroding liberties of fans. The majority of fans with no points were not that bothered about going away in the past, and it only benefits a small minority of fans who actually go with the rest being able to get tickets anyway.

Supporters clubs can do that legit. They get 10 tickets and they can give them to members with no points, the members with points buy a couple of weeks later when they go on sale. There have been loads of clubs open this decade just to get access to tickets.

But its wrong, goes against the loyalty points system which incidentally costs people £thousands to be a part of and get to the top and makes a mockery of the so called need for security, hence the new system for Euro aways.

Until blatant abuse of the system like this is addressed and stopped, how anyone can expect everyone to get on board and agree with the rules is beyond me.

People want the points whores stopped and for tickets to go to the genuine fans yet they dont and never will if it isnt addressed.
