I'll agree about the sledgehammers and walnuts but if we're stuck with it then we need a few tweaks. - And I'm basing this on Paris as I wasn't in Madrid.
First we need the collection point to be publicised immediately the tickets are purchased to enable fans to select appropriate hotels and meeting places etc. We were lucky in Paris that our hotel just happened to be on the same metro line so the messing about was minimised.
We also need some sort of late collection facility. When we played Schalke a few years ago we were delayed by traffic and wouldn't have been able to get to a collection point had the same system been in place.
Printing pictures and other ID info on tickets would be the best option then the collection point nonsense could be scrapped.

If we'd got to the final the club had already said they'd be posting tickets. Giving out 20,000+ tickets over two days would have been totally impractical and all on the cup scheme would have got one anyway. Unfortunately that's not a problem we need to worry about this year.

I see the new tighter points inspection regime as a win win, guaranteeing my ticket for future high profiles games. As ES2 and others have said, there are improvements that can be made to overcome teething problems.

If Bluemooners think that the benefits of Supporters Club membership are as great as you suggest then just to say that the Harrogate Blues are encouraging more members for next season. We've also got a trip to the races lined up for the 23rd July!

I was thinking more about sending out tickets with people's pictures on them as suggested by a few on here.

The problem is that our club doesn't print tickets for aways and getting away clubs to print individual tickets with photos on would be practically impossible. First of all, our club would need a database of photos of all of us. It would be many times harder to organise than setting up a collection point in the away city.
