A s**t away end full of tourists

Cup schemes are great for the club as they guarantee bums on seats, and certainly for the earlier rounds of cups there isn't many glamour ties for them to make their money on. I believe scheme or not, for finals it should be fans who can actively prove they have attended each round up to the point of a final. Reward loyalty in that competition. Not even being a season ticket holder, but if you have a supporter number which shows you have bought and scanned in then you are high up on the priority list. Each competition should be treated with individual merit. That of course would be too much hard work for our ticket office to sort out.

Don't mind the ballot for aways, it is a closed shop these days and even high up points who have been fine for years are somehow scrambling for some tickets due to the club withholding more than what they say.

In which case our fans should show him a bit of respect instead of going off on a xenophobic anti-tourist rant. Last season I sat right next to the family of Julian Alvarez at Fulham. They didnt look like old-school City fans either but they were lovely people.
Pardon ? No one has had a go because they were Catalan.
Even if it was Peps father and 7 mates, it was out of order.
To wear Barca shirts, all 7 of them was a deliberate act. If they cannot see that it would be a problem shows a distinct lack of common sense, never mind any other issues.
You say you sat next to the family of Alvarez. I'm going to guess they were all dressed in normal casual clothes.

I seem to recall we used to spend a lot of time at each others' throats a while back but I find myself nodding in agreement at the things you post now.

There's definitely a debate to be had around cup schemes. One person that sits near me in 109 has 6 season tickets. He argued that people not on the schemes but who attended cup games anyway, should get priority over those on the scheme who didn't attend games, or any other supporter who wasn't on the scheme but had more points. You can see his point.

The advantage of the cup schemes is that you're guaranteed your seat, don't have to do anything to get a ticket, and you get a small discount, although the 'think of a number and double it' method they seem to have for pricing cup games doesn't really make it feel like a benefit sometimes. But, as you say, it makes it harder for people who live away from Manchester to attend midweek games, and you could argue why should we penalise people for that? But that should be less of an issue for the FA Cup (or would be if they didn't fuck around with days and times for TV).

I know that for FA Cup finals, and certainly League Cup finals, there are more tickets available than people on the schemes. Last time I had access to numbers, the CL scheme had the highest numbers, with half our season ticket holders on it, although it's probably less than that now. The domestic cup schemes have fewer members.

So do you keep the cup scheme, introduce a scheme based on attendance or just revert to points, even if you haven't attended any cup games? There's no easy answer.

Cup scheme numbers will fall and fall as season ticket prices rise. Maybe they’ll get a short term boost with the introduction of new value golds when the north stand opens but after that it will be back on the downturn.

That's the text I recieved I won't be giving names or the club as its not fare if they have been given false information. As I said hope its shit but I'm not confident it is.

It's happening mate and it makes perfect sense from the clubs perspective. They want to reduce the number of season ticket holders so that we're more in line with other clubs in the league and what better way to do it than to reduce the number of ways you can get rid of your ticket?

Likewise, the away ticket ballot has to happen. This will reduce scrutiny into 3rd party touting because the club will point the finger at the "random" ballot, plus they know that people who go to away matches regularly won't be happy and are more like to jack it all in which will again reduce the number of season tickets.

If you don't think they club are capable of doing this and if you think they club give a shit about what you think then you're seriously deluded. Oh and fuck Kevin Parker

ESL showed the wolf emerge. Doubt KP was informed in advance.

KP tows the line for the club. The same KP that gave a Bulgarian supporter their ticket to their first ever City match against Chelsea in the Champions League final.

Not once has he represented supporters on the back of decisions made by the club.

I’ve not caught up with the whole thread but just a thought. Sometimes a Branch gets a few extra tickets for its nearest away game or two. It’s not that far from Eccles / Salford to Merseyside as we all know and it’s not practicable to give every Greater Manchester branch extra tickets for the away Derby.

Last season, my Branch get a few extra for Newcastle and Sheff Utd away.
We've received all our branch applications for Leicester, our "home" away game.

This only happens for this game, the normality is currently a maximum of 2 tickets, which is by far the lowest its ever been.
