With respect, it's not necessarily about winning things, because winning trophies involves so many variables which may or may not fall in your favour. It's more about seeing that the manager is realising the full potential of the players he is working with. It was quite obvious to anybody who could see from very early on in last season that the team was underperforming. Pellegrini seems to have got the team pulling in one direction and the players seem motivated. When that changes and the team are seen to be underperforming, then i am sure many of the same people who wanted Mancini out will be on Pellegrini's back as well.
