A striker in January

People going on about Bony are nuts. We just don't have the money to buy him this January, and he's at the ACON. We realistically are looking at a cheap player who's contract is nearly up or someone we can snag on loan. Michu is a good shout, however I think he left Swansea because he couldn't be fucked with wales anymore, not sure Manchester offers much more haha. We do have Spaniards and Spanish speaking players so that might tempt him along with the chance of winning a title and champions league football. There's not many realistic options tbh. There's Torres, Darren Bent and Defoe but I don't think they're up to our standards. Defoe the closest.

Talking long term i'd love to see Carlos Vela, he's the real deal, similar player to aguero and suarez but more creative. Lovely balance and low centre of gravity and an intelligent player. HOMEGROWN TOO! Best player in la liga outside of Barca and Real. Other than him there's Paco Alcacer and of course Bony. All would be expensive outlays, however all would be an improvement to the squad and an improvement on Dzeko.

José Salomón Rondón. A player who our current manager knows well but maybe out of our price range in January and can't use him in the Champions League. (Video link no longer works)

The answer is obvious. Homegrown, proven goalscorer, available on a free transfer, big name, bound to get a lot of media attention.

On a more serious note, can you imagine the media response if we signed him? They would literaly explode!

We would be completely stupid if we did.

Not a serious suggestion...

True but I have lost what sense of humour I have had.

To be fair, I can see how you took me seriously, amidst all the Podolski, Danny Ings, Defoe, Michu suggestions that people have been seriously making

It was the Ross Barkley thread that tipped me over the edge ;).

Just, c´mon man!!!

Did you forget that Rondon was ALREADY playing for Pellegrini in Málaga in their first season???

And he was NOT ALWAYS USED AS THE FIRST STRIKER OPTION (it was Julio Baptista) as he was oft injured too.

So, it doen´t make sense what you say.

What part you don't understand?? He was a player who Manuel Pellegrini has worked with, therefore could be an option an alternative to City's current strikers and will not be first choice. Zenit may ask for too much for a rotation player, and he has played in the Champions League.
