Wasn't that round Sackville Street?

Yeah it was a student haunt when you went in you had to pull back the cannabis curtain didn't matter if you smoked it or not you came out high as a kite

Anyway as we are talking 'old school ish town - who remembers the Arndale Chippy by the buses? Best Chips n Gravy I've ever had by a mile.

It used to be called Rowntrees and the chips were indeed very good.

Oh the John Bull and Swinging Sporran! They hold great memories for me. Starting going in when I was at 6th form college at Loreto in Moss Side. Happy days.

Swinging Sporran is still going....used to have great Rock nights downstairs in the 80's.....everyone from The Phoenix used to go there when Phoenix closed early...

Anyone remember the pub off Market St, down the side where Boots is?? Late seventies/early eighties? Name?

WOW this takes me right back - SELNEC buses - Miss Selfridge and Chelsea Girl - anybody remember Rotters, Tiffany's and the Conti club? - that last one being a dive that students used to go in - had lots of little rooms I seem to remember.

jees, can remember getting the orange and brown buses into town with my mam when i was a nipper in the 80's. used to go through hulme. who remembers this.....
