Scotsmac, £4 a bottle at Morrisons and Asda if you fancy a blast from the past!

-- Sat Apr 19, 2014 9:13 pm --

Talking about Chapman Street and Tom's chippy (chips and gravy with fish bits mmm). Anybody remember "Les Beswicks" Sweet shop opposite and those mouth watering sweet displays?

Chelsea Girl shop at Piccadilly. Relative of mine saw a mouse/rat hanging on a dress there once. Not surprised, even in the 80's it was dead dark and somehow unhygienic.

Mazel's radio between Piccadilly station and Mancunian way.....

Used to work opposite there.

The road used to be five lanes wide with the direction of traffic in the middle lane depending on the time of day. Quite a few head on collisions resulted.

One of my first memories of Manchester was a school trip to Belle Vue zoo in the late 60s when I was about 7. I don't remember much about the animals but the rides in the amusement park were brilliant. We went to Chester zoo the following year which was nowhere near as good.
