It is absolutely stupid though that games are being advertised as sell outs on the official site when people are desperate to go, yet when you watch the game on the telly you see swarthes of empty seats (especially in the North Stand) lower section.

I don't give a crap when people claim the likes of Barcelona often play to a below capacity stadium. Fact is people aren't getting to games because they are told it's sold out when the reality is different. City need to do something about this because a lot of people are getting extremely pissed off about it.

How does the club know if Season Ticket holders don't turn up because they are on holiday, ill, at a wedding, don't want to get cold, etc etc.

They don't obviously. But mate it's the same seats in the same area every week. Don't tell me you haven't noticed?

The Game is Sold Out only via the MCFC ticket office, however they have to give a % of tickets to Viagogo as part of the deal... Since Viagogo are legal touts & will rip off there own granny, they will never sell there tickets for average games.

Do you really give a fuck whats people think? We are a local friendly club who look after the our fans , quite different I'd say from club in the next town. I'm proud of what we do.

well said bill.

the rags will always find a way to have a pop. just ignore them.

when i was a kid everybody else seemed to be in a shitty sharp shirt, i was the only one on non-uniform day donning the kappa brilliance.

it's a breath of fresh air to see so many youngsters in blue.

All fair points.. perhaps it was insensitive of me and maybe I should grow a pair haha.

Surely we can take something from this particular message board, clearly we all value the clubs efforts and dedication to attract the next generation. There are many of you that are not bothered by the empty seats, as long as we continue to grow I can understand that.

However, the empty seats have irritated many of us. Whilst articulating the point has proved difficult, I think there's enough posts on here to justify a review on the matter.

It doesn't look convincing to say its a sell out then see many empty spaces however I am not sure what the club can do all the S/C I know either give games they cannot make to m8's or put them on here to sell . I agree Viagogo is not the solution and actually where I am 109 never see an empty seat so not sure how big the problem is would interested to know what your review would see as a successful outcome ?

Part of the consideration for city is stopping banned people who can get in via swaps and unofficial sales. Using the access card and viagogo they can disable these and it provides some safeguards . As MCFC are criminally liable if banned people get and cause bother or harm during a game they will be ultra cautious about having a free for all or trying to impose use your seat order with S/Cs. They have miserably failed to stop smoking in the bogs so heaven knows how anyone would enforce a compulsory attendance requirement

Because all the S/C have sold out, does it make the preception of the problem bigger than it is? most seasons latley even with sold out signs there have been empty seats ( MU excepted) so maybe we are being a little sensitive to an issue that doesn't have a obvious remedy apart from next time the person(s) in the empty seat(s) is at the match ask them why ? and could they lend their card so another fan if they are busy /cannot make games

social capital rather than coercion might be more fruitful

We seem to suffer from this problem more than any other Premier League club bar Arsenal, does any club allocate more seats for a family stand than ourselves in the country?, it is certainly something which needs looking at by the club if they are not doing it already. I can't for the life of me understand season ticket holders in such big numbers picking and choosing games as they obviously do when we are doing as well as we ever have done as a club.

Just to save anyone the trouble of asking me, I'll answer in advance.

Mind your own fucking business and no.

I wasn't going to answer this as it has probably been covered in other posts along the line but here goes.

I have kept my season ticket going for years even though i work away.Mainly to ensure i can get in when i need to and for the last few years to ensure i get to stand/sit in the same area of the South stand as they are a decent bunch there.

I have tried the old ''Sell us your ticket for the games you aren't here'' route and it has major flaws. The main one is getting the bugger back at a time and place i want it back and not 2 minutes prior kick off or 2 minutes into the game!People promise the earth to get your ticket but fail to deliver their end of the bargain once it has served it's purpose.

The trivago or whatever it is called route seemed a good one but it is so difficult to sort out and has a big fee too.I used it twice, never sold the ticket so now i don't even bother. What is wrong with calling the club, saying,''Hi this is Joe Bloggs,i sit in seat Z,rowZ,i will not be here for the Stoke game, please resell my ticket.'' ???
The club activate your ticket for sale for that game, make more money and everyone is happy,no middlemen.

Until they come up with a decent solution then i am afraid empty seats will remain.Should i be penalised because of not being able to attend because i have to work?Should i fuck,i paid my money like every other bugger!

Two of my mates and one of their sons are ST holders in the north stand lower tier.

They never sit in their seats as they prefer to stand and walk round to either the south stand or the singing section to 'mingle' in

Wouldn't surprise me if most of the empty seats in the north stand and elsewhere on the lower tier are due to the same reason

I appreciate your comments, especially the sign off - an eye opener. It would be a sad day if City did enforce a loyalty point deduction or any penalty for missing games - not that it could be administered anyway.

I think it's widely accepted that the vast majority of empty seats are in the Family Stand lower tier, the upper tier doesn't seem to be affected at all. I would suggest, next year, perhaps allocating an extra couple of blocks on the second tier to family members. In return, the club gives us back the bottom tier.

The north stand lower tier would enjoy somewhat of a renaissance if it were made available to morons like myself who simply want to drum up some atmosphere. I guarantee there would be no empty seats, just mindless idiots piling over each other to get a grip of Big Yaya's shirt.

I've been unable to attend, including the derby for months due to strange circumstances.
You can only use Viagogo 6 times in total
Luckily I am able to return now so happy days
