Absent season ticket holders?

There are many reasons why people dont attend games in the lower north stand, but the fact remains - no other part of the ground suffers from such passive following. The family stand was always positioned in the north upper tier, the decision to extend the scheme to the lower tier was met with much apprehension a couple of years back and rightly so.

I think it's great that the club wants to attract the 'new generation' of City fans, it's just where they sit that bothers me. Empty seats behind the goal of the champions isn't a great look, nor is a squad 20 kids from a soccer school - wearing their colours. Our neighbors sing songs about this, they bring it up every Monday.. it's gone too far!

Stick the kids on the third tier and turn the lower north stand into a kop.

Do you really give a fuck whats people think? We are a local friendly club who look after the our fans , quite different I'd say from club in the next town. I'm proud of what we do.

But, but, but they might sing nasty nursery rhymes about us..................

Who gives a flying fuck weve always been a club that has its roots deep within the community, allowing these kids into the ground to watch the champions of England may well gain us 20 regular match going fans in 10 years time.

2 seats next to me seem to be permanently empty , seems odd that some people couldnt get season tickets

who gives a fuck what others think. Sticks and Stones mate - have you heard that one in a playground.. Now go and Grow some.

I sit in the Family stand with my children and many other parents and senior citizens. The logistic is just right for us to get in and out of the stadium. There are the playzones for the kids and we are not getting in peoples way. Do you want me to go on

Yet, a club with a minority of fans who are only too happy to slag off fellow fans.

Many empty seats in areas of east stand are because fans are buying seats, then walking to the corners next to away fans and standing with their mates.
This isn't in huge numbers but many are doing this.
The clubs response was to start checking everyone's cards on the 111/110/109 entrances

The solution is to introduce safe standing and making it an option for friends to stand with each other.
String me up, guv! I confess! Got a ticket in 111. Spoke to two Swiss guys next to me, who'd never been to a game before. Asked the couple behind if they were 'standers' or 'sitters' and was disappointed to hear their reply. When the ref blew for kick-off, everyone to my left sat down, but those to the right remained standing. Did a quick shuffle along and stood with a load of proper Blues. Apologies for leaving an empty seat. I'll bring an extra coat to throw over it, next time.

Whoa, calm down dear it's only commercial! ;)

if you hadn't of cut off my whole post you would of seen that I clearly said at the start of my reply: I couldn't care less about empty seating.

And offered a positive alternative to this problem - Safe Standing.
Easier for fans who want to stand with their mates, doing so.

the rags will always find a way to have a pop. just ignore them.

when i was a kid everybody else seemed to be in a shitty sharp shirt, i was the only one on non-uniform day donning the kappa brilliance.

it's a breath of fresh air to see so many youngsters in blue.

All fair points.. perhaps it was insensitive of me and maybe I should grow a pair haha.

Surely we can take something from this particular message board, clearly we all value the clubs efforts and dedication to attract the next generation. There are many of you that are not bothered by the empty seats, as long as we continue to grow I can understand that.

However, the empty seats have irritated many of us. Whilst articulating the point has proved difficult, I think there's enough posts on here to justify a review on the matter.

sorry to put this here but i've been looking for ages now, where are them links to good live streams of city's games that the fella (think his name is 'shady') put on, i bookmarked them but had laptop cleaned up and didnt save em :(
