Can't really read into squad numbers too much - Yaya is 42, and Tevez was 32!

To be fair, Yaya chose 42 because it was the reverse of his preferred number, 24, which was taken by Vieira at the time.

You can in this regard. Roberts is considered a first team player based on that number. Academy players are all in the mid 50s and up. Doesn't mean he won't play some games for them though. They use a separate number when they're actually playing in EDS games anyway.

because we wouldn't have given him the number 9 when we signed him, as he was only an EDS signing. Doubt he'll take the number yet given his breakthrough to the first team is still up in the air as it were.

It would be great if when the squad numbers are released nacho is given 9 and lopes 17. Does anyone know when they will be officially released
