Exactly and even if she is the most mature 15 year old ever, he KNEW she was 15. Talked to her over a period of time and still went ahead knowing the law in the UK.Oh for fucks sake. There has to be a line drawn somewhere and laws put in place to protect children. Quibbling about where that line is seems ridiculous too me and shows little empathy for the abused in this case.

You might not be justifying his actions but you're going some way to rationalise them.This is what irritates me with "age"
You can have a human being who is say 12yrs old but is far more physically and mentally developed than another human being who is 18.
I was sexually exploring from the age of 7, lost my virginity in my early teens.
Girls at my school were getting pregnant at 12/13yrs old.
Luckily for me I was paying attention in sex education classes and wore a condom.
What I'm saying is there are human beings out there who are "legally" still children yet are way more physically and mentally developed than other people who are of the legal consenting age.
I'm not justifying AJ's actions, I just think he was a stupid idiot. Time will tell I guess.
This girl may of been child like and not mentally/physically ready for sexual activity. I don't know.
But to group anyone and everyone together is also idiotic.
Example -
Everyone who is 16+ is ready for sex.
Everyone who's had sex with what we class as "legally" a child is a paedophile.

Of course you can still be easily led at 16 but the fact is every country sets there own age and if you go under that then you are on the sex offenders registar and maybe in prison as well.He knew the rules and went for an under aged girl,he could have any women he wantd but he went for a child so he is a paedo
They set their own age because it's ridiculous to set an age on something that is clearly personal. He was stupid but him being a morally bad person is quite clearly questionable at this stage.

I've been 13, 14, 15 and I am a girl and I can tell you that we are inexperienced of life, boys, men, relationships, too trusting and easily manipulated. Adam Johnson had many more years experience and took advantage.

Perhaps of we stay in the EU then the age of consent can be standardised for all EU countries - perhaps at 14 like Germany and Italy or 15 like Italy.
It seems odd that a man can be an evil criminal in England when 22 miles away in France he would be a law abiding citizen.
I'm looking at it from the opposite angle - if they're going to standardise age of consent laws across the EU then for me the other countries should raise theirs so that they're in line with ours.
