When i was 19 i could of ended up in a similar situation. Was in Birmingham, cracking on to some girl. Found out of her mates that she was actually 15, used a fake id to get in the club. I was minutes away from going back to the hotel, scary thought

You don't need to defend yourself. It's a different context because Adam Johnson is likely to have known she was under 16 despite having groomed her over time. You won't be the only lad who has found himself in a similar situation.

Next time I get caught speeding I might try his philosophical "ah yes, but what is speeding?" argument. Maybe throw in that the speed limit is just some arbitrary number and that in Germany there are roads where you can drive as fast as you like. I don't like my chances of winning

He groomed a 15 year old girl. He knew it was illegal, he knew he would get in deep shit if caught but he carried on doing it. That says everything you need to about his "morals".

Our legal system provides a defence for men under 24 if they had reason to believe the girl was over 16.

In the 1960s the police and prosecution would get the girl to give evidence dressed in school uniform and little white socks while the defence would produce evidence of the girl going in pubs or produce photos of them dolled up in miniskirts.


Of course this will not apply to Johnson who is 28 but I mention it as many posters seem not to have been interested in young women themselves until their testes descended in their 30s.

I've been 13, 14, 15 and I am a girl and I can tell you that we are inexperienced of life, boys, men, relationships, too trusting and easily manipulated. Adam Johnson had many more years experience and took advantage.
If you don't mind some 20 odd year old bloke coming to your house and trying to stick his nob in your 13/14 year old daughter then you have big problems and aren't mentally mature enough to see why it's fucking wrong.

Yes and surely the second you turned 16, you developed all the pearls of wisdom that allowed you to make the most informed decisions about guys, right? How can something be so unjustifiable at 15 yet justifiable at 16?

If you speed at 45 in a 40 I wouldn't think much about it.

If you were doing 120 and high as a kite then I'd think you were a ****.

No, that shows he is stupid which no one is denying. Whether he is a morally bad person is the topic at hand.
