Adam Johnson last night

Is this a wind up?

No, not a wind up. Just a comment or 2. Agree, debate or ignore - it's up to you! I hadn't seen him mentioned anywhere, and it looks like a few agree with me.

Fair enough, I just thought the game was already won when he came on and was a bit like a practice match. Not to say he did anything great just that it would have been hard for any sub to come on when we were happy with 3-0 and so were Villareal

I don't have any dislike for the player - he was piss poor last night, and I don't really understand why, on a city forum, you're so precious about a bit of criticism. Seems that some of you are just as precious about criticism as he has become.

I'll have to check again for those 6 passes he completed - must have been when I blinked. But, even if he made 6 good passes out of 14, that's terrible!

I'm with Billy Shears opinion 100%. I don't want Johnson to look like a world beater just against Wolves and their reserves - he needs to do it when it matters more, and I'm making the point that last night was a great opportunity which he fluffed totally against shyte opposition.

Scored at Blackburn. At home against Villa. At Wolves. At home against Wolves. Some cracking goals and performances in there as well. Got ten minutes when the game was won and the rest of the team were coasting, so I'm not going to criticize him for not tearing down any trees.

WHY THE FUCK DO SOME FUCKERS HAVE TO FUCKING MOAN ABOUT SOMETHING OR THE FUCKING OTHER? that being off my chest I can turn off the cap locks,

Oh well, you know what they say - there's nothing like a bit of good reasoned debate......

This is coming from a big Johnson critic. In between Liverpool away and just before Bayern at home then Chelsea away we have Norwich at home. So far this season they've looked a good side, capable of nicking a point certainly. I for one will be delighted to have Johnson coming in for that game and letting the likes of Silva rest for two huge games, because I know Johnson is fully capable of winning that game for us.

He's nowhere near as good as the press think he is, but to be fair to AJ, the team had pretty much closed the game by the time he came on. We were just passing the ball around the back 4 running down the clock. Goal difference is almost irrelevant in the Champions League, so we were doing the right thing and had no real intention of getting a cricket score. Hardly the type of game situation that Johnson can thrive in.

Aguero gave the ball away pretty much every time he had it too, but i see nobody slagging him.

Very very disappointing from the bench - just when he should have taken that very weak Villareal defence apart.
Forgive me if I've missed a thread on him - merge if necessary please mods - but I counted his involvement in the game 9 times after he came on last night, and he lost posession every time. Started badly when he gave a terrible pass to Mario - they had a mini strop with each other - and he never recovered.
After putting in a decent shift when coming on as sub on Saturday against Wolves, he was back to his worst last night in my opinion, and at this rate, he'll be nowhere near the first team come the big games, and probably replaced before too long.
I haven't seen any stats for him but, if there was one pass which went to a city player last night, I didn't see it.

I am afraid it was a typical Johnson performance. The word unreliable springs to mind.

Then surely he has duty to join in with the game of keep ball? He wasn't brought on so we could practice playing with 10 men.

He thinks he is better than he is. Face like a smacked arse when he scores and I would get rid if we can get a better replacement. Mid table prem team player at best. Why? Can't tackle/Can't defend/No pace for an out and out winger. Shame because I had high hopes for him personally when he arrived. Hope he proves me wrong but I doubt he will.
