Adam Johnson last night

the ball never came to his side of the pitch, he barely got a touch anyway in an already won game. ??????????????????????????????????????

So whats the question you`re asking ???????????????????????????????????????

not really a question just puzzled, at the constant aj bashing threads, it was like a training game last night so what we didnt see the best of him, he's a class player and people need to get behind the lad, people are entitled to there opinions, but if he does one thing wrong people are quick to jump on him :)

He was rarely given the ball to be honest.

but if i was him i'd be screaming for it at every chance and have a real good run at them.

he did it twice and ran into a dead end, but he maybe should have got involved more and thought i'm gonna show you what i can do again mancini, but he didn't.

The game was already won so that was his chance to come on and play his best against a beaten side, show that he actually wants to be part of the team, get in space, close players down... do anything! Instead he just stood on the right and watched the game. He showed no desire to be part of the game or have the ball.

Mancini has been negative about him in the press and this was a chance to prove mancini wrong, he just didnt care.

I agree the game was already won but that explains why an attack minded player wouldn't really stand out when brought on only to contain.
I did think at the time that he was poor but upon reflection I realise that he needs to learn this aspect of the game.
Any young player who has a natural attacking instinct has to learn defensive tactics and AJ is no exception.

His attitude stinks, all this not celebrating and never smiling and pushing players away just to look pissed off and prove a point... Very unproffessional imo

He thinks hes mario but for some reason balotelli gets away with doing this.

Wouldnt be surprised to see him leave at the end of the season, hope not though, as his goal scoring record is very good for a wide player who hasnt played much

Mancini would like nothing more than to rotate Nasri, Silva and Johnson to keep the squad fresh. But Johnson just isn't a 90 minute player yet. He has too many lapses in judgement. Roberto is literally trying to do everything he can to make AJ focus. While its working, it also seems to be pushing him further away from the positive team morale.

I thought I saw him come on, but then later thought I might be mistaken. Piss poor basically, end of story.

People who say the ball 'didn't go to his side of the field' need to watch him more closely, and compare with Gareth Barry.

One moves into space all the time to make himself available, out of the range of opposition players. The other discreetly manages to hide behind opposition players just enough so he cant be picked out most of the time. Guess which is which. Just as well really given his stats on giving the ball away.

He was poor last night but has been very good this season.

If you're using last night to validate your dislike for the player then that's pretty myopic given what he's capable of, and how our poor form and inability to score goals last year coincided with his absence.

I don't rate Balotelli and don't think he played well last night, but I'm not going to start a thread on it because his poor performance didn't really affect us and it's not the right time for it.

Shocking, how so?
