Sunderland cannot afford to cover Johnson’s £80,000-a-week wages, but the player was willing to take a pay cut of about £30,000 a week as long as he was compensated with a lump sum from City to do so.
Not again! Can we stop paying these fringe players so much, I hope we don't bring Sinclair in on wages like that.

We need home grown players for the squads though which is why we are after Sinclair, and bought Rodwell. Why is this concept so difficult ?mancityscot said:oakiecokie said:mancityscot said:15 million. thank you sunderland and good luck AJ. sinclair isnt the answer though. just a sideways step
If he signs then at least give the lad a chance to show what he can or cannot.
We`ve given Johnson too long and he`s still not good enough for our starting eleven.
fair enough. we should go for pablo hernandez isntead though imo
You really can't expect him to spend the rest of his career with us playing 20min cameos.citytill1die84 said:cleavers said:We struggled when he was here mate, how many games did he change for us ?Danny St.helens CTID said:Well and truely fucked off with letting him go. i just do not get it at all. fuckin sinclair is not the answer. we will struggle to change a game when struggling now
He changed a few games for us Newcastle and Blackburn off top of my head also got a late equaliser at Sunderland.

Because when City come a-callin' the fee goes up drastically.Edwaardz said:You look at United getting Kagawa for £14million and Dortmund getting Reus for £12million and you have to think, why can't we get a player of this quality for a fee like that with the money we've received from Johnson's departure.
I'm not as he wasn't quality. If he was, he'd be starting. I am thrilled.hgblue said:cleavers said:We've made a profit on a player we actually bought, a decent one, this should be enough for a celebration in itself.
Not if you happen to think the player is a quality one. I'm gutted.
I think some are confusing him with Trevor.SWP's back said:Yes.Danny St.helens CTID said:u ever saw sinclair beat a man?

He's from St Helens. I wouldn't be surprised if its Trevor Nelson he's confused with.cleavers said:I think some are confusing him with Trevor.SWP's back said:Yes.Danny St.helens CTID said:u ever saw sinclair beat a man?

IMO Moses > AJ
Good job, Marwood.
Bring Sinclair and a good CB and all will be good.

So you've said. But you shouldn't be. Give Sinclair a chance.hgblue said:SWP's back said:I'm not as he wasn't quality. If he was, he'd be starting. I am thrilled.hgblue said:Not if you happen to think the player is a quality one. I'm gutted.
I understand that the majority don't rate him, that's fair enough. I'm amongst the minority that thinks he's a quality player, which is why I'm gutted with this news.
