Adama Traore

5 goals in 71 games for Middlesbrough and 6 goals in 71 for Wolves is abysmal for an attacker/winger. He brings absolutely nothing to this team and his track record shows he has no end product to this day.

His overall stats: 168 appearances 13 goals 28 assists (8 seasons of football)
I was not impressed when he was at Boro.

I am impressed now although I must admit that I thought his current stats would be better.

Wolves though are generally a cautious side. I think he'd be a great player for City's squad. I have changed my opinion of him this season. I think he is one of the very few players in the Premier League who literally will terrify an opposing defender.

No idea on this one. When he was at Borough I thought he was beyond help, this was a guy who had spent time at Barcelona and Arsenal and even their coaches weren't able to teach him some of the Fabian Delph 'basics of football'. That said, he's tore us apart in recent games and something seems to have clicked...

My main concern would be that I'm not entirely sure how much joy he'd get in a team where the opposition leaves zero space in behind. Requiring him to play neat intricate football to get through teams is not his game at all.

He needs less space to go past people than Sterling and has improved his output. His strength enables him to muscle out defenders in a way our other strikers can't.

This always gets me, why do people never feel the need for a plan B?
I am all in favour of a plan B, however like I posted previously I see no way in which Traore could help us break down a packed defence if we're desperate for a game changing goal or retain possession if we want to kill a game off. If you're advocating changing our style to accommodate Traore, then the conversation is over due to pure stupidity (ps... I'm not saying that's what you are doing, just if you are).

Plan B to me is what Pep did at Old Trafford and again last night. It worked both games, it's just we took our chances in the away leg which we failed to do last night.

Traore's stats in my previous response to you and Marvin show he would be no more efficient at taking those chances than any of our current players, in fact I'd less far less efficient. I accept players can improve (e.g. Sterling) but I don't think Traore has the natural ability to reach anything close to Sterling's level pre-confidence crisis.

Interesting that Wolves have signed Podence from Olympiakos. He's another speedy winger, right-footed as well, so that adds a little competition for Traore, but it might be that Wolves are spending now before selling down the line.

I will support us signing him if his stats improve, but that is something we have to wait for and at the moment I would be too uncomfortable with spending +30m for him. Anything below I would consider it worth the risk.

Saint-Maximin isn't not a bad shout but Newcastle will follow Wolves' lead and ask for ridiculous amount of money.

I don't think Traore or St-Maximin are good enough for us. Fast enough yes, but nowhere near skilful or having the football intelligence Pep demands. Imagine how fristrating it'd be watching them get into good positions with pace only to dribble into a defender or smash it wildly over the bar about nine times out of ten.

We need someone as fast or almost as fast but with the technique and ability to play the City way. Sancho, for example.

Saint-Maximin is easily one of the most skilful players in the league. Shit end product though

Saint-Maximin is one of the most entertaining players to watch in the league. But he’s too inconsistent at present to be considered a viable option. He’s a better footballer than Traore, though.

Fucking hell, that's cheap. We should go all out to get him at that price.

;-)

So; what does that make Sane worth then; €250m?

I've got an old pair of trainer's I haven't thrown out yet, might put them on ebay for 5k.

I'll have more chance selling them at the price than wolves getting 150M for Traore.
