Additional time

Independent time keeping and stop the clock. It works in rugby which is a similar game so why not.
You would probably have to change the halves to either 30 or 40 minutes long is normally the arguement against.

I have advocated the stop the clock method myself, but seen this reason given a few times

I wouldn't advocate stopping the clock for everything but certainly for injuries, goal kicks and free kicks. The amount of time wasted when there's a free kick awarded near the penalty area and subsequent farting around setting up the wall is ridiculous. They're young men in their twenties and shouldn't need to take multiple breathers in a game playing twice a week max. The guys in rugby league are relentless.

It happens in all sports. I can recall people drifting away from a speedway match after heat 14 with the result dependant on the last heat. A home win, an away win, and a draw were all possible.

Should be beneficial to us - if we're winning we're usually controlling a game (and we've got the quality to hit teams on the break), if we're not it gives us extra time to get a goal.

That said - think it's for red cards, goal celebrations etc? Whereas it was taking ages on throw ins that lead to our home game against Everton being so short of playing time this season? Maybe they need to address that and the time taken for goal kicks etc at some point?
