I don't know why he's getting so much abuse. I seem to remember him being our best striker. Then Mancini came along and wouldn't play him and when he did, he usually did well. In fact I don't really remember him being anything other than a good / great player for us.

It's not his fault that cretin Hughes signed him on a contract no-one can afford to buy him out of.

Is "get this tosser out of our club" really called for?

Fair play. Just seems like such a long drawn out saga.

Adebayor

We owe Spurs absolutely nothing and the longer they leave it with all there eggs in the Adebayor basket, the harder they are makig it for themselves to get someone else...

We should be playing hardball and say he won't be sold to them if they piss about, there is no way if we were buying a player from them they would let it drag on

Re: Adebayor

Just look at the way Khaldoon handled the Tevez saga, this guy knows how to play hardball and has a strong hand. Don't worry about this just be patient.

I agree but keeping him for 4 weeks costs 700k. Adebayor has a strong hand too. Spurs will sign him but by waiting they have signed money. They know what they get from Adebayor and simply arent paying for him close season. I reckon they will get him and Damaio.

Imo we didn't really win against Tevez. We won the battle with AC Milan but fact is Tevez left us short and we fielded him 70% fit at best. We set a precident that we wouldn't be taken a fool of no doubt but Tevez still picked his 198k pw up whilst being semi fit whilst Silva battled on with an ankle injury. Winning to me is getting 30mill for him and being shot of the bastard. Great player, epic ****.

Modric?

Its our problem IMO, we have RSC, Adebayor and Guidetti all who need new homes, i think we have said to ourselves we need to ship them out before we can buy.... and now its biting us on the arse.

I honestly think RVP would've moved by now if RSC and Ade had gone somewhere.. Still think Arsenal are waiting for us to make a move, so stalling Utd.

plus if we get RVP in Dzeko then will probably be shipped out.... That's 4 big transfers to sort out.

I think Ade going is key to all our movements.

Just had a lovely movement and never considered Ade once!

It's not that he thinks Bale is worth 400m, its that if you try to buy him that'll be the price. It's a moot point anyway I guess as I don't think Mancini would spend big money on a player like Bale.

It's not how much Levy "rates" anyone, there are more factors to involve such as the player's contract, agent, the financial situation of the owner of the player's contract, the position of the team, the squad the player plays in blah blah blah

I find it really strange that you don’t refer to the quality of the player. Is that Levy’s approach too?

Saying Levy is holding Spurs back is an interesting opinion, massive threads on GG have waged these arguments, but I always find those discussion get lost in false statistics and vague terminology.

No vague terminology with me. Levy tends to buy players at the end of the transfer window. It wouldn’t surprise me if it is because he doesn’t want to pay wages in pre-season. You may well have qualified for the CL if he had signed Parker a few weeks earlier. That was a royal f-up by Levy. Yet, he probably spent the first weeks of the season congratulating himself on avoiding paying Parker’s wages during the summer. He is probably trying to do the same with Adebayor. If that is the case, I would honestly hope we loan Adebayor to Liverpool, and that they keep Spurs out of the top 4.

Obviously with Chelsea and Man City's emergance in recent years the prospect of winning a title in the near future is a big ask but I don't think that is Levy's fault. Whoever was in charge we wouldn't be in with a shout for a title unless a ridiculous amount of money was to be put in and that looks fairly unlikely if the whole FFP comes in to play and works.

‘Chelsea’s emergence?’ Chelsea have been better than Spurs for several years, and in terms of the championship, been there or thereabouts for about 10 years.

You would not fail to win a title because of City or Chelsea. Spurs do not have it in them to finish above the Rags. When I look at a club like Spurs I can’t help but think the club has a “losers mentality”. It was the same with us until two years ago. You may well have been fourth but IMO it’s miles away from winning the league.

Re: Adebayor

we don't need anyone if push comes to shove

so we sell first and act later

last thing we need to do is add to the wagebill without offloading first

and if any greedy numpties want to shoot themselves in the foot in the hope of subsidised moves then we stick....no need to twist for the sake of it

those days are over

Re: Adebayor

My brother has just seen Adebayor at Euston station getting into a very large Mercedes and being greeted by a guy.

Could be nothing but my first thought was that it could also be a signal that he is finalising his move to Spurs. Bloody hope so!

Not claiming to be an itk but just thought i would throw it out there for the great and the good on bluemoon

Fingers crossed that it's this "big" lump of turd.

Re: Adebayor

Not heard anything here. Not 100% keen on Adebayor but he was the best we had last season.

Pretty scary that your 5th/6th best striker was our best, and we're part of the chasing pack

@Agent_ITK My friend is training at Spud's complex as we speak and just saw Adebayor. Is this one of the new signings you've talked about?

--maybe he finally is on his way to the Spuds?

Please, please, please (even though he'll score a hat-trick against us).
