Adebayor (continued)

Apologies if its been mentioned, but i'm pretty sure that its been quoted that Van Persie wouldn't come to us if Adebayor was here as they appear to hate each other. Maybe that has something to do with Adebayor refusing to go to Spurs, knowing that if he sticks around, we wouldn't be able to get Van Persie and he gets the satisfaction of thinking he's got one over Roberto.

Personally i'm relieved that we haven't got Van Persie for many reasons but want rid of Adebayor at all costs.

Football should have a 'donation' scheme where teams can give away players to any team without obligation. The contract is non-existent and the new club offer their average wage from the squad.

Or we get to vote as fans for one player, to be dropped off into a jungle and only provided with a wooden spoon and a curly wurly. That'll show who's boss.

Still shocked he's still here.

What needs to happen is this, a sit down between him and the board. He needs to be offered 2 options. Stay, play for EDS and pick up his wages for 2 years. Leave, take a hit on wages but get a sign on fee from new club.

It's simple, very simple in fact. Have a career where he will get a new deal and a s.o.f or pick up wages for 2 years that he won't get elsewhere, for somebody that just wants to play football I struggle to understand the hold up.

If he plays us further we should take hit and kill his career by putting in the EDS, up to him.

The deal will happen with spuds, it's just a matter of time.

AVB didn't sound overly impressed that it's not been finalised as yet but did confirm negotiations were ongoing.

I think we're all just astonished there is something left to negotiate. They really want to head into the season with one recognised senior striker?

He's a cvnt, but you have to admit he's playing a blinder here. City are desperate to get rid of him and Spurs are desperate for a striker, the more he waits, the more money he will get to keep. Both teams will panic and cave in to him and he will miss the first 2 weeks of the PL. Miss 2 games and overall get few more millions is great from his side

Sounds good from a fans POV but cannot happen I am afraid. If we were to bring him back in and simply stick him the reserves without opportunity in the 1st team he would be allowed to leave with us having to pay up his contract - those are the rules

Levy is fantastic at screwing the best deals and he knows that he will get his man - just wanting to sweat CITY to compensate the player to the maximum and therefore limit the amount of siging on fee

Every time this thread is bumped I envisage Blues rabidly clicking it to check if he's sold... only to be disappointed.

Oops, I just did it too.

Might be getting closer. Story is that a deal has been done with Spurs for £8m. They desperately need a striker and if Modric goes they can afford it.

Hopefully but I'm not holding my breath.

They was always going to buy him I said about 2 month ago they won't buy him till at least 2 days before the season starts it's saves them his wages
