I really hope were not this stupid but it looks like were considering subsidising Adebayour wages to push thro a move to Spurs. Consider whats happened;

After a year long loan where City pay 5mill Ade wages Spurs want to sign him.
We agree a discounted value of 5mill (not 17mill) for Spurs to agree his wages. Ade rejects Spurs offer, he comes back and we pay 2.5mill wages.
Now it looks like we are paying Ade some of the 5mill transfer fee to get rid.

It looks to me like Spurs and Ade have colluded to rip City off, Spurs saved his wages during pre-season and haven't made a serious attempt to sign another striker, WHY NOT?. If we pay Ade 3mill of the 5mill transfer fee he will have cost us 22.5 mill in the last year to get rid.

As it stands we could have paid another club 5mill to take him off our hands at the start of the transfer window and been 500k better off. Mancini could have been getting his original transfer targets that he identified at the end of last season and City would have had more time to negotiate better deals.

Don't blame spuds!!
Remember Caicedo??? We sold him to Levante for a massive 1million, who sold him a week later for 7.5million....... Marwood is a joker

Yeah, everything bad is Marwoods fault, and he gets no credit for anything good.

We did win the league last season, how there is so much angst and whinging against a key member of the staff responsible for that is beyond me.

Honestly how is the Caicedo deal NOT Marwoods fault? It would have been his job to find out that there is a club waiting to pay MORE THAN SEVEN TIMES more for him than we got.

There wasn't a club willing to pay 7 times the prices when the deal was made. Plenty on here would have happily given him away at the time, and it's credit to him that he had a great year in Spain and raised his profile and value.

And how do we know who was responsible for that contract anyway. Didn't Williams have a job of getting rid of unwanted players? Or do we just blame Marwood for everything nowadays?

We had 25% sell on in that deal.

Marwood put that 1m option into the loan deal with Levante.

We didnt need Caicedo, loaned him out but why to put in that option with such a low fee?

He had a good season at Levante that's why another team coame for him later. But even if he has a shock horror season, 1m fee is very low and we could get that amount for him from any Spanish side.

Marwood is losing hell of an amount money with paying Bridge's wage while he is on loan. Last year RSC the same etc. That 1m fee was that important to him? To make sure Levante can buy him.

Because no-one else was prepared to pay more. And where is the source that Marwood was responsible for the contract? I'm fairly sure the club don't announce who is responsible for negotiating individual deals, are you just presuming it was Marwood because it suits your purpose to?

Do you think he can just magic up a club willing to pay unwanted players wages for us? If we demanded another club play Bridge or RSC wages they'd never leave the club.

Why give AJ such a lucrative contract recently?
Now if Johnson want to move on, how much money we're losing yet again?

So if Marwood takes responsibility for City's transfer deals he should be a club legend

I presume the manager wanted to keep Johnson at the club, whoever negotiated his contract carried out those wishes. But I don't know how much Johnson earns, and who negotiated his contract.

I suspect you don't either. I also suspect that we'll make a profit if and when Johnson leaves the club.

Not to mention the fact that Spurs are potential contenders for a CL spot, I've no idea why we want to do anything to strengthen them. I say we play this out until the window shuts and keep Ade in the reserves. Let Spurs try and find a striker in the last 24 hrs. Could probably shift Ade in Jan for better money and send him to Italy/Spain at the same time.

I agree but for some reason this is the player who is holding up our incoming transfers, I don't know why, has to be purely an accounting reason but it seems the business model of the club demands he goes first before recruits are brought in. Having said that, we were prepared before the window really got moving to splash out up to 30m on Hazard and this is the bit that makes the whole of this window unfathomable in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Keeping him until January would make him maybe desperate to leave. aybe teams who had no luck until that with their strikers would come for him.

But if he is on 160-170k/week it would cost City around 3m pounds.

But if we now pay the transfer fee for him we lose bigger. (Even if get a transfer as low as 4-5m. Steven Fletcher might go for 12-15m. Darrent Bent went for 15m also for 20m in his career.)

So worth the risk waiting until January and maybe getting 10 m fee from someone?

Dont know but I'm sure Marwoods doesnt know either.:)

Can't believe we're going to cave in to the greedy bastard's demands. Shocking stuff.

I'd keep him and let him rot at Ewan Fields on a Tuesday night.

He's a fucking disgrace.

I like Ade.

Wonder if Bob could convert him to a centre half? That would save us a few quid.

he will be gone before the deadline for the 1st match.

Spurs are desperate for a striker and he's the only available option at the moment

Apparently this is going to be completed in the next day or two finally. I hope so at least, it has dragged on too long.

Think we've been hearing this for the last three weeks.
