Absolute insanity if we are paying 90k per week for him at spurs, net loss of £4 mill, we should have insisted on a higher fee or not sold imo.

A saving of 80k a week for two years is 8 million + a £5m fee. So if that's the case it's still saving £13m+.
Plus a £4m loan fee last season don't forget,

Absolutely correct, we're supposedly subsidising over a 100k in his wages? We've sold him for dirt cheap yet we still have to pay to watch his lazy arse run about for another club.

I would have sent him to russia on loan for a season instead, or perhaps to west ham until spurs paid a more realistic fee for him.
Spurs are paying him a £5m signing on bonus and £5m for him to us (so £10m in total). They also gave us a £4m loan fee last season.

Our "subsidisation" is out accepting only £5m for him rather than the £10-12m we wanted as otherwise Spurs couldn't match his wage.

But Spuds have still paid £14m whichever way you look at it.,

But we paid his wages last year as well ? the £4m is already wiped out. No matter how you dress up the saving, the club is paying for a player to be at club that couldnt afford him.

From what I understand, City will not be paying any of Adebayor's wages at Spurs. £4m straight deal.

Re: Adebayor gone (Official)

Hopefully we arent sponsoring Spurs after they bought the player.

And? What's your point? I was pointing out Spurs have paid £14m in total.

And we did not pay his full wages last season at all.

We have just received £5m for a player that was not part of our plans and was costing us £9m per year. Two years left on the deal. We are now £23m better off over the next 2 years than we were this morning.

I'm happy about that and luckily Hughes is no longer here to make these deals again.

I hadnt seen anything about a signing fee paid by spurs but if true that is a little better. Might that mean we are not paying the 95k a week wage subsidy i wonder. Ade gets 5 mil handshake, equivalent to what is required to top up his spurs wage to 175k/week.
