The Daily Mail article is quite clear. Whether it's right is another matter. it supports what the BBC said ie. Adebayor to receive his City contract of £170k pw over the next two years. Not clear, according to the Daily Mail, City paid the difference between what Spurs are going to pay him up front or over the course of the next 2 years.

So this shit that SWP gave us,is complete bollocks ?
Cheers, I just really can't understand how people are ignoring what is staring at them in the face. City went mental yesterday afternoon when the first stories said we were paying his wages, they made a load of phone calls and all but the BBC stories changed to reflect that (my posts were before the new stories btw) yet wum after wum seem desperate to continue the lie.

Maybe it's time to lock this thread seeing as he no longer a City player nor is he of any interest to us.
The financial side maybe could be interesting, but that has already been clearly explained in this thread, numerous times.

Adebayor is now finally a part of our past, and he does not deserve a second of our attention.

Rules on 3rd party transactions have changed since Leeds and Robbie Fowler FWIW.

Spurs pay us £5m, they pay Ade £4m and a wage within their limits.

Ade gets paid in full, we get a few million and his wages off the books. Spurs get a decent player for a decent price.

it was reported last night that City are going to pay his wages to Spurs who will then pass them on to Ade, after a 10% cut for their handling fee
because of this City are not going to be making any major purchases for the next two years
