Adebayor gone (& we aren't paying his wages)

Well we aren't. Now go read the mirror and telegraph or better yet, log off you simple little thing.

You gave us the mail article to support your argument. Maybe next time you should read it first.

And so it begins.

Marvin does appear to be right.

-- Thu Aug 23, 2012 4:50 pm --

It is understood Spurs refused to break their strict wage structure to accommodate Adebayor.

But with the player refusing to accept a big pay-cut, City were forced to accept having to continue to pay the player the difference between his earnings with them and his new wage of around £80,000 in order to complete the deal.

The development completes a protracted saga, which has dragged on throughout the summer after a disagreement over Adebayor's right to a loyalty bonus pay-off from City.

Wolves are getting 15m fee for Steven Fletcher.
We got 5m for Ade.
Andy Carroll was 35m.

Adebayor is better than the other two by miles. But in England trasnfers are joke most of the times. Jordi alba went for 12m to Barca this summer. Left back of the Spain national team. Fletcher cant even get into the England squad...

You are missing just a wee part of the puzzle. Adebayor was going to cost us (or whoever took on the obligation of his contract) some say 170,000 a week for 24 more months...that's about 18 million quid we didn't want to spend. Plus the 5 mill, plus the FFP.........plus we got a complete c*** out of our club. Not a bad deal all in all?
