Adebayor has done nothing wrong....

I'm with you on the behavoiur of the Arsenal fans.

This is a quote from the BBC.

'It later emerged that a match steward needed hospital treatment after being hit by a flying object in the wake of Adebayor's goal celebration.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "The steward received a head injury from a flying object which appeared to have been thrown from the direction of the away end.'

so it looks like Ade' gets the blame for that too.

i'll go out on a limb here and say the stamping is not intentional.

initially after watching the vid i thought it was imminent of a 3 match ban and that is after tinted glass off. but like a magician's misdirection, we see what we want our eyes to see. that is the heavy foot coming down on van persie.

but i thought the other foot came down equally hard. as the left foot buckled on the ankle, it is almost involuntary that the other leg would come down hard to plant and balance. try it out, try to land with one foot buckled, how will the other leg react.

and as the stamping foot landed hard to the front, so did the othe leg landed hard to the back. another angle showed that ade was moving forward when the tackle happened.

i believe someone who knows the motions of the human body can shed light on this intentional/unintentional debate. but personally, from thinking that it was intentional, to know really believing that it was not. the slow motion played a big part in making it look more than it is.

Van Persie went through Adie and he retaliated, how bad it was depends on the angle you see it from, the majority show GBH. His celebration was foolhardy, but no worse that many who have gone before.

The big problem is Ian Watmore is a long time Arsenal fan, (as are a number of the sports writers for the various daily's) and he will be directing the various bodies at the FA to find him guilty of as many offences as possible, with the most severe punishment possible to try and halt our progress.

No doubt City will try and get the sentence dragged out into next week, but very unlikely they will, so he will miss the derby and probably at least two other games, if not four or five.

I have watched the "stamp" a number of times. I do not think he meant to stamp on him. He is a gangly guy who has some fairly odd control of his limbs most of the time (his wonderful run didn't look elegant). So in my view, not deliberate.

The celebration was just dumb in the light of the recent issues at WHU and Forest. He not only represents himself but the club and i would rather he worried about celebrating with City fans rather then giving abuse to the away fans.

Conclusion - they will ban him, I think unjustly for the "stamp".

Ok I've seen this a few times now. If you watch the feet it looks bad, if you watch Ade's head he seems to be totally focused on the ball.

I expect he'll get a 5 match ban, but totally unjustified.

People getting mad over the celebration are too thin skinned. Kind of like when a 5 year old comes crying "mommy mommy someone called me a name." ROFL!!! Press are saying its the same as Catona kicking a fan. ROFL!! Not even close! Press and FA are out to hang Adebayor. Its really disturbing.

hughes gave ade the benefit of the doubt regarding his celebration.

in the OS, hughes simply said ade ran to celebrate in front of the home crowd whom he found to have a liking for.

i would accept this statement because ade was simply celebrating. in the COMS, he has every right to celebrate anywhere he wants to ;)

ade you have my vote.

Fucking Bull shit, anyone can't see it!!

I can only see a player hurdling a challenge and then accidentally catching his opponent. If he wanted to stamp on him he would have done it full footed. I agree with your last bit, the Arsenal players were out to deliberately injure him.
How old are you? Maybe as I'm nearly 40, I can see when we've done something bad and not use those rose tinted glasses.

Anyway, we have a squad now and it'll get the other players fired up for the rags.

I just think you had your head in the NOTW and Sunday Mirror yesterday and have taken all the bull shit, for a 40 year old to do that is pretty sad.

Doesn't look like he hits his face, especially from where the ref is, but the follow through of his leg is definitely a stamp.
