Emmanuel passes medical at City
Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has passed a medical at Manchester City and is set to complete a move to Eastlands, subject to his work permit being approved.
The Togo striker has spent three and a half years at Arsenal following a £7m move from Monaco and scored 62 goals in 142 appearances. Adebayor had also been linked with a move to AC Milan or Chelsea but City now appear to have beaten them both for his signature.
It has been another sensational 24 hours for the blues, following Tuesday's capture of Argentine striker Carlos Tevez. If Adebayor does sign for the blues, City will have signed players from three of the leading six clubs in the last year, a clear sign of intent from the owners who are firmly putting their money where their mouths are.
Meanwhile manager Mark Hughes has not given up hope of signing John Terry from Chelsea, claiming the blues can 'offer something different' to the England skipper. "When you have bee with a club for a long time, you get to a point when a change of scenery could reignite you," says Hughes.
